For the record, I might not be the president of the Ron Harper Jr. fan club, but I’m at least an officer. Have really enjoyed watching him play in Maine. Glad to see him come through in his 33 (!) minutes last night.

Totally agree. Intriguing player. Nice to see him rewarded.
Love to see Amari Williams get his deal converted. He has done everything right since joining the team. Even with the expected growing pains, overall, he has impressed when given opportunities.

Celtics' depth chart at center now features Queta, Garza, Vucevic, & Williams on a standard deal.

Good stuff here on the evolution of the Hall of Fame voting pool, including the most complete demographic breakdown I’ve seen on time since joining the BBWAA (a proxy for voter age but not a perfect one) vs. candidates selected per ballot. Lots more to unpack here

Quick 🧵: The Post stuff is nihilistic and confusing. Beyond the oligarchic logic, the earnest little patriot still somewhere inside me is so scandalized by the sheer cynicism of it all. Just…why? You didn’t have to do this. It’s mean, sad, and would leave your great-grandmother shaking her head. 1/3

In his burgeoning new career teaching sports media at Bryant University, former Patriots tight end and ex-WEEI host Christian Fauria is doing something most dedicated teachers do: he’s putting what’s best for his students above his own preferences. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/02/04/s...

The Globe has two reporters at Sox spring training with a third arriving in a few days.

We have two at the Olympics in Italy focused on stories about the New Englanders competing in the Games.

We'll also have a dozen people at the Super Bowl this week covering the Patriots.

I left The Washington Post last year, but wrote my love letter in the middle of my time there, in 2015.

Everything changed, over my 1st decade there. Then everything changed again, in the decade after this was written. But there were 2 constants: the work & the people. www.mrdanzak.com/blog/10years

Ten years ago today I first reported for work at The Washington Post. Deep Throat had come out a couple days earlier. I might have been wearing a tie. My pants sure as shit didn't fit.

the Washington Post layoffs are awful in every regard. I am under no pretense that Trump-glazing collateral damage was intended as an intelligent biz decision. However, I want to address closing its sports desk.

If you want to do journalism that gets eyeballs, sports is the LAST desk to close.
