Conservative mindset deals in immediacy. It is unbridled X causes Y and removing every other externality humanly possible.

So yes, most believe it because in their minds "well that means millions of housing units are being used by them that will then be empty" because that's the X to Y
im willing to be convinced that there's something im not understanding about "deport as many laborers as you can, tariff the shit out of everything that goes into building a home, etc etc hey presto cheap houses" but at this point I'm skeptical!!

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

1. After the shutdown fight, Republicans promised Democrats a vote on extending enhanced ACA subsidies, which cover 20 million Americans.

Now, new reporting shows that Republican negotiators want to make a trans funding ban a requirement for the extension.

Republicans Privately Pushing Anti-Trans Funding Ban For ACA Subsidy Deal After Shutdown Compromise
The proposal, which was first detailed in the Wall Street Journal, could harm transgender people even in blue states if it becomes part of the negotiated deal.

NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

The military has a duty to refuse unlawful orders, but Congress has a duty to remove from office a president and secretary who would issue such orders. There is something off about members of Congress talking about the former while refusing to say the latter, the part that's actually their job here.
