I’m a big fan of civilization. Rule of law, public health, universities, science, all good things. Great stuff. It may not be ‘politically correct’ to say this but I’m also a fan of what civilizations have done to idiot barbarian hordes who attempted to trample on those things.

It’d be a shame if people started calling Trump’s “Board of Peace”, “The Axis of Feeble”

No one should be calling it #TheAxisOfFeeble that would just be so terrible and make Fox News very sad

All it would take is for a bunch of these CEOs to confront Trump in front of the world and tell him he's unfit to run a hot-dog stand, and his presidency would be over. Seriously.

But none of them has the balls to do it.

We was touring with U2 and they respected our desire to boycott playing in Arizona since they wouldnt recognize MLK Day. We just walked off stage.

Oh man. It would be terrible if people started following Bovino around and playing Baby Shark. It would be terrible because he would hate it, and it would probably become his theme song, and it would make his Nazi in a long coat cosplay all the more ridiculous.

So no one should do that.

Four GOP Senators.

At most four Repubs in the House.

Together they could stop nearly all the mad-king's rampages. They would be known to history as Profiles in Courage. They might/would lose the next election. But people have sacrificed a lot more, for a lot less.
I can't repeat this enough.
I've said this before and I'll say it again.
It would only take a tiny handful of Republican Congress members or senators to stop the slide of America toward authoritarian fascism, but nope. They're all in.

A reminder that you now live in a country that has concentration camps & multiple classes of citizenship & party-affiliated paramilitaries knocking door-to-door hunting groups it doesn’t like, & we told you this would happen if people didn’t go to jail & weren’t barred from office for trying a coup.

Something I'd like to point out to "Christian" "conservatives": The leader of the US smells like rotting dog barf and feces and his agents murdered a woman literally named Good. If you're interested in signs from God, it's hard to be more direct and on the nose than this regarding Good vs Evil.
Every couple of weeks we get a different description of the apparently awful stench coming off our necrotic president and I think it's high time the media nail down exactly what kind of rotten meat covered in women's perfume he actually smells like.

The amount of anger and resentment this cruel and corrupt administration has engendered in America’s liberal majority has not been fully realized by the Democratic Party.

But it will be a political force.

The Democratic base doesn’t just want to win. They want to cow their opposition.

And good.
I'm sorry, Appeasement Democrats, but we already tried your way. Working to hide Trump's malfeasance from the public, sanding off as many rough edges as possible, working to avoid confrontation under the theory that he wants confrontation, then trying to move on as if it didn't happen failed. Badly.

It would be a mistake to see Trumpism as authoritarianism imposed on an unwilling nation, as opposed to authoritarianism implemented in a nation with a plurality that is already made up of authoritarian bootlickers who created the context for Trumpism to thrive.

This isn't just a casual observation. Fascism scholars have long made this point. It's why calling them "weird" was a more effective strategy than talking about the prices of eggs. Fascism is an aesthetic political movement - you need to make people feel embarassed and horrified by it.
one of the most effective weapons we have against fascism is mockery, especially when its really funny
It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.
January 12, 2026 at 5:54 PM
Just think how Mitch McConnell and Republican strategists would have leveraged the situation if ICE, during a Democratic presidency, did 0.01% of what ICE is now doing.

I would love to see devious, crafty McConnell type tricks and messaging from @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social
I am begging Democratic leadership to recognize that funding and legitimizing your authoritarian opponent’s secret police is a bad idea.

This should not be a difficult concept.

This is a very good analogy.
It’s like getting married and 20 years later, your spouse gets terminal cancer and you think, “I didn’t get married to take care of a cancer patient,” and just keep living as before: planning vacations, signing the two of you up for gym memberships, and declaring that your spouse will soon recover.
For several years now I have been saying that Democratic voters have not directed their anger at D leaders because most voters, even engaged activists, really thought D leaders were fighting as hard as they could.

And I said if and when D voters found out they’d be ANGRY.
That’s what we see now.

More and more, I'm concluding something like this is the best option. I feel completely done with the US. Just want my retirement money at this point, and to live in another country, maybe even a brand new country.
Look, I love America's art and jazz and punk and fuck-it all culture, but -- the US is now a failed state. #Cascadia needs a divorce. We're coming out on our own. Let that feckless, fascist shadow of a nation crumble to ashes. Godspeed to our comrades stuck there. Join us in making something new.
