i know the sexy and fun thing to do is say you'll punch anyone you see wearing google glasses but even if it's more boring i'd rather people talk more broadly about how to set meaningful expectations of privacy e.g. japan's regulations requiring cell phones make a loud snap when taking a photo

Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.
This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

this is sort of a fascinating story, not for its content (obviously!) but because it reminds you that you literally never see Starmer covered in inconsequential, fluffy ways like this. he usually doesn't merit it (also obviously!), but it reminds you how much power the media's framing choices have
