🎵 Well I heard you had a shiny nose,
You would even say it glows,
But all the other deer were nasty to you,
Until old Santa came to say,
“Rudolph won’t you guide my sleigh,”
Then they shouted out a gleeful “Hallelujah”! 🎵

"And don’t even get me started on the Parents. They eventually have a few sex scenes, but the acting is atrocious, and it’s clear neither of them is into it. They spend all day, every day, looking haggard, defeated, bored, and desperate."
You Can Skip the First Few Seasons of Your Child’s Life, Because It Doesn’t Really Get Good Until Season 6
Have I told you about the show we’ve been bingeing? You have got to watch Your Child’s Life. We are obsessed. It doesn’t get good until like Season...

Even fish are being surveilled now, smh
(this is super cool and I hope it’s the beginning of learning a whole lot more about fish voices)

You know it’s the holidays when lunch is half a leftover cheese ball with crackers and and a jar out of the recently rediscovered honey sampler you got as a gift last year that you were really excited about until you put it away and promptly forgot it existed. 🍽️

I feel like it’s either the worst or the best possible time for this, depending on your sense of irony.
Attention, citizens: RoboCop is officially on patrol.

After nearly 15 years of planning, casting, fits, starts, snags and delays, Detroit's RoboCop statue is upright at Eastern Market.

I remember when entertaining screwups like this were the only use the average person had for “AI.” I miss those days.
Oh shit waddup

COVID isn’t acting like the viruses most of us grew up with, and treating it like “just a cold” is putting people at real risk. David Brasure breaks down why SARS-CoV-2 is fundamentally different, how it causes long-term damage, and what we can do to protect ourselves.

This little creature is called a flatworm, also known as a Planarian.

It’s really stupid-looking, and so’s its mama.

Sorry about that! I just have to be insulting to it because we’re really strict about following the rules.

You know

Yep

That’s right

Diss a planarian

I asked my ex for her grandfather’s spätzle recipe so I could make it this year, and she sent me the note file I remember her scrawling on her phone 15 years ago. One instruction had been modified, initially it said “water til wet” and caused trouble when we tried following it.
I nailed it this time

Hell. Half the brands on that list are in my pantry right now, but my grocery money is pretty much the only agency I have left, so. Homemade pasta sauce and store brand snacks in my future.
Pepperidge farm and Cape cod gon hurt but fuck that guy
By the way these brands are owned by Campbell’s

My dad likes turkey just enough to eat it on Thanksgiving, so for Christmas we have to get more creative. For the 25th my mom usually makes a traditional tourtiere, and for many years my aunt and uncle hosted Christmas Eve with a big appetizer spread. We’ve done pork crown roast and goose too.
it fascinates me how most everyone in the U.S. does turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are all over the map as to what we eat for Christmas (as is proper for a hugely diverse nation).

I come from a Christmas prime rib roast family, myself.
I also use the bacon method. Although turkey is Christmas dinner where I come from.

Brilliant idea, I might steal it!
A couple of years ago we got sort of exhausted about the similar meals for Christmas Eve, Christmas, in law Christmas etc. so now Xmas Eve we pick a country and tell our kid that is where Santa is stopping for dinner so that is what we are having for dinner too.

Oh god, so many, I might quote this post every day for a month as I think of new ones.
The end of Serenity broke me for hours the first time I watched it, only partially due to external circumstances. Everything from the “how does a reaver clean his spear” moment to the funeral scene.
What movie scene will make you cry everytime you see it?
I'll go first.
Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium.
When Mr. Magorium (Dustin Hoffman) explains to Mahoney that he going to die.

I want to point out a new resource page on Monarca website.

Small (or large!) businesses can post signs saying ICE/CBP must have a warrant to enter premises.

Also Know Your Rights signs for targeted people.

PDFs of signs and KYR cards. Plaster these puppies everywhere.

On the other hand, we could be here for hours.
