#Pavementparking is a bad habit and drivers need help quitting.

Apologists will have you believe it's about lack of space. It's not.
A white van driver has parked van partially blocking a footway, on top of double yellow lines. Immediately opposite, some 2 metres away, are parking bays with enough length to accommodate 3-4 cars. On the right are terraced homes with tiny front yards. On the left are low rise flats. The road surface is wet. The sky is grey/white.

I’ve spoken to TfL workers who are terrified.

One worker told me he can’t sleep, he doesn’t know what to say to his family. Another, pregnant with her first child, fears she’ll be deported before giving birth.

You can watch my exchange with the Mayor here ⬇️

I raised the devastating impact of sudden visa rule changes with the Mayor – over 200 TfL workers are at risk of deportation.

These are people who trusted the system, built lives here and are now left in limbo.

I'm glad the Mayor has committed to lobby the Government and support these workers.

We ask everyone outside of the car to be safe so that drivers can be dangerous.

That’s the entirety of our approach to road safety.

It has become impossible for everyday folk to divest from tech like Microsoft. A plan realised. Like motordom.

Happy to hear this billboard is still up in Vancouver, was a pleasure to work with @visionzerovancouver.ca.

The situation on cycleway 1 at Whitmore Road is just completely unworkable and it is a travesty the Hoxton LTN hasn’t been designed to fix this. There is *far* too much motor traffic for these cycle flows. Someone is going to get hurt. @sarahwoodberrydown.bsky.social @hackneylcc.bsky.social

Thousands of road deaths a year caused by motor vehicles, speeding almost completely ignored by authorities, drink and drug driving at record highs and this is how you choose to spend your time, boasting about your stupid stunt and your shit marketing company on LinkedIn. Pathetic.

Then and now photo showing how the road was open to cars and had car parking on both sides, now it is a pedestrianised street with bollards stopping motor traffic from using it

Ergh, Microsoft, reminds me of that silly film with the lumbering mobile cities with bits and people falling off whilst they crush the landscape.

Electric cargo bikes can replace many everyday car trips for the average family and “reshape suburban family mobility”, say Oxford University researchers. 49 British households were loaned e-cargo bikes for school runs, shopping trips, family outings and other day-to-day use.

IMO Middleton has too many difficult home owners and their motors. They will absorb the design costs into the engagement and pm budget and leave the scheme wanting. I'd like to do it somewhere a bit more ordinary like one of Newham's neughbourhoods.
