Can confirm. Was able to leave a VM. Only allows for roughly a minute to a minute-and-a-half.
Durbin’s Rock Island office has an open VM at the moment - 309-786-5173

Nobody picking up the phone for Dick Durbin because he and his whole team are cowards.

Replace "football" with "baseball" here and you've basically already got a description of me.
Is the cure for late 30s male depression eating a big sandwich and opening a few packs of old wax football cards from 1994

Absolutely. If you're on a high from tonight's results and want them to keep going, a donation to @katmabu.bsky.social would be a good way to do it.

This is doing absolutely nothing to assauge my doubts about the viability of this league.
the Women's Pro Baseball League confirmed to me their "salary budget" of $95k per team for a roster of 15 players for the whole season.

roughly, if split evenly, that comes out to $6,300/player per season.

Counterpoint: James Harden
TBH if I did get into a new sport it would probably be basketball because fuck those guys are so goddamn elegant that game looks like professional dancing. Truly beautiful.

Certainly we can find a non-Nazi to run in Maine and defeat Mills. Right?

MSNBC Grandmas in Skechers are built different. 😤
MSNBC Grandmas in Skechers seamlessly reclaiming the frog from 4chan Nazis in about six weeks has gotta be the political upset of the century.

As someone married to one of the people employed to catch the errors...all I can say is that, yeah, it's tough out there.
tangential point but it concerns me that basically no one is doing their homework properly anymore and the people whose jobs were to catch such errors are either vastly overextended or just laid off

Funny to who
I love the Indiana story and all but it would be pretty funny if they started completely sucking again now

Forty years ago MLB teams opened their books to an independent economist and were proven to be lying liars who lied.

Until they open their books that way again, let that be your default assumption about any claims they — and their media water carriers — make about their finances.

Curt Cignetti is a pro wrestling fan, confirmed.
Indiana extending Curt Cignetti is very good to see, as is the staged publicity photo in which he very much appears to be signing not the contract but a blank piece of paper on a notepad

It's cool that when they think the audience is progressive, the Edgewater residents organizing against the Broadway rezoning say they're fighting gentrification, but otherwise they're pretty open about what they're worrying about

There is not a single reason to outsource your creativity to a computer.

Not one.

To do so removes the very point of being creative in the first place.

Yes. I do this for all the games. Switch it to a local radio team, which is generally preferable.
If you have a cable/dish/streaming login that gives you access to broadcasts, you can use it to log in to MLB dot TV app and then you should be able to change the audio to something other than Smoltz. (I'm unable to test this, but it has worked in previous years.)

It is a beautiful place, and it's not an exaggeration to say that living here helped make me come alive again.
You may have noticed that folks who are from Chicago love this city. There's a reason for that. I walked to the lake with friends yesterday, and when I saw the waves rolling in, I felt something shift back into place inside of me. So many parts of this city are part of me. We will defend this place.
