Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

Sounds like Onion Games nailed it. Back before Love De Lic fractured, Moon was one of the first RPGs to really look inwards at what a 'hero' was, and became a major inspiration for Undertale.

Now Undertale has ended up being an inspiration for the people that made Moon. Can't wait to play this.

A 'Not Recommended' Steam review with 4 hours played Review text reads: It's a decent idea for a game where you flip a coin and depending on your percentage chances you get heads or tails. However the odds are a lie. You will flip tails 100 percent more than you will heads no matter what your percentage is. Even when you get it up to 60% you will still flip tails way more often then you will heads. The Dev can try to defend it, but when I flip the coin 2500 times and only hit heads a third of the time even when at 60% then the odds are broken or a lie. I've also watched gameplay and seen fellow players have the same flips so I know it isn't just me having bad luck. Still not bad for $2, but I'm saying no because the game is coded against you instead of it being fully on chance and luck.

LLMs, he argues, already are at the scaling limits. “We don’t know exactly when LLMs might hit diminishing returns hard, because we don’t have a measure of the statistical complexity of language. To find out whether we have hit a wall we have to watch the LLM developers. If they release a model that cost 10x more, likely using 20x more compute than the previous one, and it’s not much better than what’s out there, then we’ve hit a wall,” he says. And that’s what has happened: ChatGPT-3 cost $50 million, ChatGPT-4 cost $500 million and ChatGPT-5, costing $5 billion, was delayed and when released wasn’t noticeably better than the last version. There’s no moat on a model, so there’s little pricing power. And the people who use LLMs the most are using them to access compute that costs the developer more to provide than their monthly subscriptions,” he says.

Tremendously sad news. Carpe Fulgur was the first localization outfit I can remember that focused on bringing Japanese indie games to Steam, back in the pre-Greenlight days when it was a struggle just to get Valve to take notice of you. They were real trailblazers in the indie localization scene.

Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.
