I wrote and animated a mashup of 70s film, Greek & Roman mythology and 60s TV hillbillies. It's not for everybody. It could use some more work.
It succeeds at what I was trying to do.

Introduce yourself with what almost killed you

Ground bee stung my freshly showered (and likely flowery-smelling) toe. Head kinda swole up like Martin Short's in that one movie.

“Each Sunday, if I can afford it and have the time, I visit Columbia Rd Market to buy a bunch of flowers, seeking what is in season and avoiding repeats, mostly. Here is the story of last year told in flowers.”

I hear lentils make your hair fall out.
Italian Sausages with lentils; Maltese Baked Macaroni ; Lemon Polenta Cake: these are the recipes that I’m cooking this week to ease myself deliciously into the New Year. You mught wish to do likewise! www.nigella.com/latest/food-...

When I first started working for this TV station, they were seeking funding for a documentary about, I think, volcanic activity around the Pacific Rim. It was called Fire in the Rim or Rim of Fire, something like that.
No small amount of hemorrhoid jokes were made.

Movies from the 30s and 40s are like, "Rich People have succumbed to the devil's work, but some of them can be saved."

Fun thread.
Fun alt––and well descriptive––text.
*Wekas are a beloved kiwi wood hen. They will steal anything. They are notorious for being very sneaky, opening tents, snaffling shiny things, stealing this author's banana once and generally being awesome.

This was the year I cancelled my Adobe subscription and booted up my old mac with software installed from CDs.
All my old shortcuts were still there.

I ain't gonna do that "Your 2026 Word" thing.
It's like when Moss on the IT Crowd found that website that predicted the date and time one would die.
a man in a plaid shirt and tie is sitting at a desk with a laptop and the words just walk away above him .
Alt: Moss from the IT Crowd sitting amidst file cabinets and shelves full of tech clutter gesturing widely and saying "Just WALK AWAY".

Watched "Holiday" last night. It was a recommended NYE film. Didn't quite enjoy it. It's one of those 30s/40s movies that requires cuckolding for the HEA. Good main theme, I guess, but the big takeaway is you shouldn't announce an engagement a week after meeting someone.

Frost had muted the colours of the landscape this morning on #Dartmoor, cloaking everything in a pale and wintry light. It reminded me of the Regency fondness for a bright underdress softened with a white lace layer. Princess Charlotte dress c1805 #FashionMuseumBath #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

He got his BA from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN (a town of probably 10k at the time.)

He went there on a football scholarship and studied theater.

Just think what the world misses if small colleges close their creative arts departments.
An absolutely wonderful, versatile, powerful and powerfully funny actor who enlivened everything he was in, and a huge loss. I'm not going to say the word, but we're all thinking it in his honor. RIP Isiah Whitlock. deadline.com/2025/12/isia...

I called out "Robert Altman rocks!" during the premiere parade for A Prairie Home Companion movie and I think he thought I said "sucks" and I felt bad about that. I tried to remedy it by smiling with exaggerated good will.
Dennis Rodman flirting with me in Newport Beach in the late 90s. Or Barry Bonds flirting with me when we had seats just behind home plate at the new field in San Francisco in 2001. (I was more impressed with the Worm but my husband was more impressed by Barry Bonds flirting with his 37-y-o wife.)
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie
