IMO if you are reporting on anti-abortion legislation in individual states and not noting that the majority of this shit is model legislation drafted by orgs like Americans United for Life, you probably shouldn't be reporting on reproductive rights.

ICE didn't exist, but INS did, with the same abusive staff. One of them, in an interview, asked my mother if she wanted them to sing "Danny Boy" for her, since she is from Ireland. The wrong answer could easily have led to her deportation.

This FWIW is a good example of what I am talking about. I don’t think Dan Goldman is ever going to say the words “abolish ICE” and activists should work to replace him with someone who will. But also, Goldman speaking in these terms isn’t a bad thing. It is, like I said, a good start.
