This is a tough storm to clear considering how much of it is ice and how cold it's going to be for the next weeks, but as always, the problem is that Sanitation plows the snow out of the roadway, which means it blocks the sidewalks and bus stops, and no one trails behind to do adequate removal.
Honestly, what's up with NYC Parks' snow removal operations?

I know Mayor Adams really f'ed up things, but the paths in City Hall Park are super narrow and, at times, unplowed.

Also, what's up with DOT shoveling MOUNDS into bus stops?!

I know I keep posting about this but every time I check, the list gets longer and longer and longer. Hundreds and hundreds of places, everything from huge local institutions to small spots that will definitely struggle.

No exaggeration, it's the most astonishing act of solidarity I've ever seen.
there are a bunch of big names on this list, including multiple beard award winners, and some places i never would have guessed in a hundred years (the malt shop?!) and i'm genuinely floored and delighted to see so many participants

One of the things I keep thinking about re: school closures/shifts to remote learning for safety precautions (or families needing to keep kids home for safety) is what’s happening with students who typically get free breakfast/lunch at school. That’s a lot of meals lost.

We must stress: The only violence is coming from CBP/ICE. They are rioting in the face of sustained nonviolent protests by thousands of Americans across the country.

They are today’s Alabama State Troopers at the Selma bridge. They are Bull Connor’s police with firehoses in Birmingham.
