We always have events, too! You don't even need a card to attend. There's literally D&D / game nights every Friday at mine, and a sewing hangout (knit in peace, meet new friends, have coffee) class every Saturday. We just like knowing we make your life better.

Love,
Your Local Librarian
1. Visit the library and just hang out. The library keeps count of visitors!

2. Bring your own book to the library and read. See item number one above

3. Borrow a CD like David Bowie Ziggy Stsrdust

4. Borrow a DVD like marvel’s Iron Man

5. Attend a workshop!

6. Attend two!!

If you don't have a library card, you should get a library card. Once you have that library card, you should get the Libby app. Once you get the Libby app, go browse the newsstand. Good chance your library card gives you access to ALL THE MAGAZINES. I'm talking the real good shit. AND BACK ISSUES.

Predictable but still amazing to watch people who spent literally years accusing every librarian, teacher, and trans person they could find of sexually grooming children suddenly throw themselves in with "actually it's ephebophilia"
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free”

the library bought it.

which in turn means that the community bought it.

In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.

Okay, it's been about 18 hours since I opened my prerelease packs for the Avatar: The Last Airbender MTG set.

Initial thoughts: Great flavor, set feels aligned with Magic's worlds while still paying great tribute to the show's setting, characters, etc.

Alice Wong’s legacy is the political horizon she helped articulate. A horizon where disabled knowledge is central, and care is a shared commitment. She taught us to name grief & rage without collapsing under them, to celebrate disabled brilliance without ignoring the material conditions shaping life

@aaron.bsky.team. Why the fuck is it okay for "government" accounts to post literal death on their page, then?
okay so why is this post still up & account still existing? actual question. the account isn’t even verified like some of the other fed gov accounts either, but also it shouldn’t matter when they post “we will kill you” along with videos of them killing people.

I still have bits from the bumpers for the show pop into my head from time to time. One, where other characters tried to parse Virgil's "I put a shock to your system!" catchphrase, is particularly resonant. "He bought stock in door twisters. I don't know why."
Static Shock was my intro to the Milestone characters and Dwayne McDuffie's work. I'm thrilled to see that the legacy is continuing, as I picked up the new Batman/Static Beyond issue #1 this week.

Magpie-ass president.
It’s wild that you can just openly bribe the President of the United States with chunks of gold to get
whatever you want, it’s fine, you don’t have to hide it, just say “I am bribing the President with gold,” zero consequences.

Hey. This is the BEST POSSIBLE SEASON to badger Visa and Mastercard into fucking off about their shitty fake-moral-panic over LGBTQ+ spending habits and content on retail platforms.

Fuck ALL THE WAY OFF, VISA and Mastercard. No one wants to hear jack shit from you. You're a fucking receipt printer.
Please continue making calls to Visa and Mastercard, because they are working alongside conservative legislators to crack down on free speech and expression!

A dual pronged offense requires a dual pronged defense!
#SaveSpeech

starting Nov 1st we're entering the holiday season, which is a big stress point for big businesses like Mastercard and Visa. These Paypros havent stopped cracking down on Adult Content, so we need to jump back into calling them in full force again!
