I feel like instead of doomering or just yelling at people to get in the fight I'd try and help some folks through the darkness in my own way.

This is a collection of 14 songs that when played cohesively I think can help people work through tough times, like *gestures).

Like I know there are edgelord leftists out there who look down their noses at shit like No Kings but sorry you guys, the more mass protest looks fun and family-friendly, the bigger it gets and the better its chances of being broadly effective

I understand its disorientating for some to look around with their own eyes and accept the reality of the situation, ('that's not supposed to happen here, that's supposed to happen over there') but unless reporters start aggressively covering this regime like they would any foreign authoritarian?

If you wanted to get rid the DC office to weaken CDC's presence inside the beltway, to weaken support for CDC in Congress, this is what you would do — fire a shit ton of highly trained professionals who stop infectious diseases due to "coding errors" and then re-hire them, but not the DC office

Taking a position on American military involvement in WW2 which is more Russophilic than the views of Kruschev and Zhukov is campist behavior
cyberstalin.bsky.social
Genuinely asking how this is a tankie position when the entire third world has a fairly negative view of you people.

Amazing how tankies will just go on the internet and post lies

Basic support for special ed was a key part of the bipartisan consensus around disability rights dating back decades. Current gop lawmakers and scotus judges have played key roles recently in supporting those rights. But what use are rights without enforcement?

It's incredible the extent to which Congress just utterly refuses to defend itself. You'd think for entirely self-interested reasons you would stridently oppose having the power of the purse arbitrarily ripped from you, ya know?

Why would you allow yourself to become the Roman Senate circa 27 BC.

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

I'm going to suggest you considered that "comrades in arms" doesn't literally always mean "we fought back to back" and could quite clearly extend to "we fought in the same struggle"

All of my wife's grandparents amongst them! Very proudly Ukrainian Jews, the lot of them. They did not like Stalin! Didn't know 90 year old women knew some of the words her grandmother used to describe him tbh

The reason why I get so furious at the people who use "Soviet" and "Russian" interchangeably is because there were a lot of non-Russian Soviets who fought in the Red Army and the Russian Federation wants you to think they're all Russians

One thing I've noticed is that even well-educated people underestimate how much control over the structure of the courts congress has. Almost nothing about the courts requires a constitutional amendment to change
curiousaboutupdog.bsky.social
This would take a constitutional amendment to change, right?

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Exec2: that doesn't sound at all evil. We're a big company, we're supposed to be evil

The thing about this is that:

1) it is a righteous fight on Dems’ favored ground

2) if Republicans cave they did so after already fighting hard against subsidies

3) if Republicans cave, people start to touch a very specific stove that Democrats have been trying to keep them from touching
