Former professional investor, now farm owner. Trump hater since 1986. Mostly re-posting from this account.

Son loves Tintin, I am not actually a Belgian journalist, nor do I live in the Soviet Union.

‪Doctors say that vaccines protect children from dangerous diseases. A nepo baby who barbecues dogs and snorts cocaine off toilet seats says that vaccines make children vulnerable to 5G radiation. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

"everyone has to get back to the office because the important thing about business is human interaction" is dying, but "white collar jobs will be replaced by AI agents within 18 months" cannot yet be born; in this interregnum a variety of morbid symptoms appear.

a reporter could get trump to confess to everything by asking him if he just wasnt famous enough to go to the island, just say youve heard he “never had the juice”

Is this the stock market path?

- AI fear destroys all jobs
- AI bubble pops because there are no jobs to pay for AI and consumer spending
- Markets crash
- Fed cuts a lot
- We're back to early 2010s equity levels

When you dig deeper around mysteriously successful figures you generally find that rather than being incomprehensibly brilliant masters of the universe, they actually just lied a bunch and committed a bunch of crimes that no one wanted to look too hard at

That the NYT still writes this stuff when everyone knows that Musk is full of horseshit (including the reporters at the NYT!) is honestly shocking at this point. They think you're stupid. They know he never does anything he promises but they write it anyway. Utter trash.
Elon Musk told employees at xAI, his artificial intelligence company, on Tuesday that the company needed a factory on the moon to build A.I. satellites and a massive catapult to launch them into space.
Elon Musk Wants to Build an A.I. Satellite Factory on the Moon
In a meeting with employees at his company xAI, Mr. Musk revealed a vision for a facility that includes a giant catapult to launch his satellites into space.

I do not totally follow what part of this story is a Greek tragedy. He liked Epstein. When people found out, they became angry. What is the Greek aspect of this?

Gordon Brown very good on the BBC this morning. I know he got a lot of criticism as Prime Minister but consider his successors in office.

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

President Trump posted a provocative image today of Barack and Michele Obama as monkeys in a jungle. Not everyone is happy about it.

Whether it's Donald Trump postings images of Barack Obama as a monkey or Barack Obama appearing at press conference in a tan suit, both men have presented Barack Obama in a less-than-flattering light.

"Trump is a gutter racist" has been a provable assertion since he became the face of the birther nonsense. It's part of his political brand.

To recap the White House's official position, the racist video was posted erroneously by a staffer and they took it down, but even if it was posted on purpose, the outrage would have been fake because the post was fine and inspired by the Lion King

Even in Trump's first Administration, even by the end in 2020, this would have been a days-long scandal that ended in an apology (or a claim he was hacked).

Early in his career, William Randolph Hearst famously joked that if his papers kept losing $1 million a year, he'd lose all his money in 60 years. If the Post continues to lose $100 million a year, it will take Jeff Bezos 2000 years to lose his money.

You mean you aren’t supposed to tell a judge that your boss, support staff, and client are the problem, claim you sent a letter you didn’t, then acknowledge the letter doesn’t contain what you said it does, insist you’re the good guy in all of this, then demand to be held in contempt?

All in all, while Le's frustrated asides got the most attention, this hearing is most shocking for how little control there is over ICE. Even an experienced and respected AUSA like Anna Voss can't get them within a mile of compliance.

Peter Mandelson is telling the truth on one thing: the idea he was bought for a $4k “bursary” or a $75k gift is ridiculous

The real incentive was a post-government payday - one so big he *rejected* a $3–5m-a-year offer

And Epstein enabled that payday

Here’s the evidence. 🧵

8. Weiss's project is creating an Operation Paperclip for Epstein's cronies. Taking a group of discredited men and rehabilitating them as necessary pillars of system. Dershowitz and Peter Attia are the Wernher von Brauns of reactionary centrism.
