#LibFaves25 Day 10!

I said I wasn't posting in any order, but I absolutely had a #1 book of the year & I did something I rarely do--I read it TWICE!

THE BUFFALO HUNTER HUNTER by @sgj.bsky.social

I have said it a few times, this book will soon (amd should) be taught in literature classes.

Since Polygon is leaving it out of the headline: Epic Games partnered with The Game Awards to put money into the pocket of a bigot who uses her wealth to further the genocide of trans people through lawsuits and legislation. Every 'free' game gives money directly to JKR, and they are complicit.

this isn't the point but it is funny and kind of a broader point that the focus of the subhead is "architects" and then they replaced what was, in the original photo, labourers.
I guess it's fitting that it's a reimagined, worse version of someone else's artwork

I’ve read quite a few @sgj.bsky.social joints at this point and I’ve loved them all, but this one feels like something extra special, like it’s one of the great novels that will still be talked about in 50 or 100 years. Maybe his masterpiece? 5/5 highly recommend

It's been an interesting year! Bigger miniatures, army painting, putting the Quickshade Dip back into the rotation, along with lots... and *lots* of chipping and weathering on different miniatures.

As ever, see to yourselves first! But anything spare helps feed this stuff! ko-fi.com/sonicsledgeh...

I have to admit I don't like driving and could care less about cars and trucks but @sgj.bsky.social surprised me with the action packed thrill ride that is Killer On The Road. He managed to create another awesome final girl and one scary protagonist.

This fascinating. The Sojourn is a great audio drama and its so cool to see where they pulled from other great scifi series.
Lead Writer Daniel Orrett describes how the #StargateAtlantis three-parter “The Siege” inspired the Season One finale of The Sojourn.

I'm actually looking to pick up some more closed captioning/subtitle editing work to get me safely to the end of the month. If you are a content creator or work in other media, please leave a reply here if I can help you with this work, and I'll start DMs with you to talk about it some more!
I also use Carrd to host my subtitle editing and closed captioning portfolio. It's proven very useful.

we could solve a lot of problems if we stopped making video games always online, and made it so if you wanted to play games with friends you had to skip school and go to a guy from your class' house who sells weed through the McDonalds Drive Thru to play Goldeneye

Curtis Sliwa claims to have been offered $10 million, across seven bribes, to drop out of the mayoral race. Last month, he said he’d leave the ballot if “a Mack truck hits me, and I get turned into a speed bump, and they can’t recover me in the I.C.U.”

I JUST finished this book. No, not book — masterpiece. I read the audiobook, which is in and of itself a piece of art. If you have read the physical copy, I can not recommend the audiobook highly enough. If you have read neither, you know what to do.

Finished the audiobook for The Buffalo Hunter Hunter. WOW. The production was stellar (including the author-read acknowledgements). The language is so rich from all of the characters - I have never quite read something like it before. Horror, historical fiction, and western fans unite! #booksky
