Marko continues his quest to find out if pain can be quantified objectively by diving into the McGill Pain Questionnaire, and Corrigan has questions about food, memory, and final meals.

This makes me feel the same way I felt watching Fantastic Planet as a child. Deeply unsettling.

👇 I keep saying this. While it doesn't entirely work for me, I think it's much more effective than Late Night With the Devil while doing a lot of very similar things.
I watched History of the Occult tonight without really knowing anything about it going in and thought it was great. Actually quite scary and well done. It’s a little funny watching a movie really succeed at what Late Night With the Devil was trying to do.

I've read two separate threads on two different subreddits today where multiple people openly confess to not realizing Smoke and Stack are played by the same actor in SINNERS, and I'm shook.

Update! Kohlrabi was delicious! Probably didn't even need all the sauce! Made some nice tofu, too, cause we're doing the ol' pre-vacay fridge clean out. Dinner success! 🍽

I am going to cook with kohlrabi tonight. I have never tasted kohlrabi before. Not even sure I'd seen one till it showed up in my CSA box last week. Wish me luck!

Everyone who has ever had to interact with conservatives knows they're the ones who are gonna bring up pronouns, protests, and veganism first. Let's be real.

Frankly, this is the kind of awe and wonder I wish for everyone.
Yesterday morning I watched a ceramics artist demonstrate a pre-colombian hydraulic sculpture that's in two parts, one holds water, the other you dip into the water. And the air escaping from the ceramic base creates a deep wailing sound, like a loon. It made me cry.

Our school district somehow overspent by nearly $20 million dollars and now wants to raise everyone's taxes by nearly 2k this year and nearly $700 permanently so that the state doesn't bring in much-needed oversight. The whites in this town are a menace.
The letter writer states: “What I worry about with the people voting No/No is that the state will not do a forensic audit, just send in a state monitor.”

The episodes are really solid though. I struggled with this list more than the Halloween one because they are more consistent. So with that from my least favorite to favorite, Bob’s Burgers Thanksgivi...

The washed out color of the first Wicked made me feel genuinely depressed while watching it. I walked out unsure if I ever wanted to see a movie again.

Gyno: Do you mind if I record this appointment?
Me: what for?
Her: Just notes.
Me: oh, yeah, no prob-- wait... is it AI?
Her: Yes.
Me: Oh haha, absolutely not.

This is what pens are for, folks.

On tonight's episode they've got a storm chaser in L.A. and he, too, looks EXACTLY like all the other tornado chasers. I'm losing it.
I don't normally have trouble telling white men apart, but every tornado chaser they interview on the Discovery Channel show In The Eye of the Storm looks like the exact same guy.

It's not just "consumer smart" it reduces environmental waste, key materials are often mined in slave conditions. The whole tenor of the article is wrong - why is the economy so dependent on us engaging in mass waste?

I think this might be the first time I genuinely cannot tell a photo is AI. It is, but I cannot find the clues. Like, that they're dressed too similarly is not a tell. Every tech asshole looks like this.
