She/her. Midwestern. Follows interesting folks. Likes books, art, classics. Most likely to post pet photos.
This is so cool looking. I remember visiting Charlottesville many years ago & being struck by how odd the original statue was (I’m from the north, haven’t spent much time in the south, it jumps out as strange to have these monuments.) I really like this repurposing.
Kara Walker's stunning "Unmanned Drone," a deconstructed & reassembled statue of Stonewall Jackson that was originally located in Charlottesville, Virginia until its 2021 removal. A fascinating & complex artwork, now on view at LA art space The Brick as part of "Monuments" exhibition the-brick.org

This plastic skeleton lawn ornament looks eerier now that he’s getting festive & wearing Santa’s skin.

As long as the swinging isn’t with your own gender-swapped clones (plural) it’ll stay less embarrassing than many “classic” sci-fi authors. 😆
All that I ask is that when I approach my 70s I don't suddenly become one of those science fiction writers who writes embarrassingly horny prose about nipple-spunged space swingers banging everyone but the dog for two-thirds of the novel
Think how much weirder your books will get

Yeah… my dad is also in his 70s with blue eyes & looks a hell of a lot better than Bobby Jr here. No weird diet, exercise, or fake tanning needed.

What are people smoking to be so awed by the epitome of “rode hard & put away wet.” Is the Kennedy name that hypnotizing?

What are your top 5 movie genres?

Mine are:
1) murder in a country home
2) princess-type bickering with cocky dude
3) teen/YA ensemble comedy that probably won’t age well
4) vampires
5) period pieces with anachronistic costumes or set dressing because I enjoy spotting it
What are your top 5 movie genres?
Mine are:

1) Mothers and daughters struggling as the child grows up
2) scrappy found family pull off a heist
3) CARS GO ZOOM FAST. WE DON'T OBEY ANY LAWS -- INCLUDING PHYSICS
4) absolutely stupid comedy that moves fast and is smarter than it seems.
5) animals
What are your top 5 movie genres? mine are:
-She is street smart/zany & he is not handling it well while being a bit turned on.
-epic with much scenery. Maybe some horses? And sunsets.
-She is smarter than everyone. Even him.
-The hope of a happy ending but not sure.
-Gene Kelly's butt.

That is pretty cool. My favorite mug from Malia Landis was shattered by my cat & now only holds pens. A tall mug by One Eyed Cat Crafts has been serving in its place.

This movie was so good and so fun. I am not a horror person, but this is colorful, campy, and great seen as a group.
I adored QUEENS OF THE DEAD and was especially struck by the film's willingness to tackle external LGBTQIA+ community issues, especially during a time when the current trend of queer horror is rooted in personal introspection. My thoughts at @fangoria.bsky.social:

My targeted ads have weird ideas about me. I don’t think I know anyone who needs these. Especially not the $775 pin that looks like something I made in Brownie Scout day camp at age 8. (It’s even the right colors!)

What nonsense. I have a small
kitchen so have no interest in making space for a crepe pan or tagine, but I’ve had an electric kettle since college. I have plenty of tea towels, a pepper mill, & casserole dishes (just not French & Spanish ones) & have flat metal chopsticks I use regularly.
This article is interesting mainly for blowing your mind as to how Americans don’t use the most basic of kitchen items like tea towels, a kettle, a pepper mill, etc 🤯
10 international kitchen staples most Americans haven’t caught on to yet
From French tea towels to Japanese knives, these international kitchen finds will make you ask: ‘Why don’t we have that?’

Tackiest motherfucker on the planet. It’s a tough competition, to be sure, but somehow the pudding-brained narcissist on the verge of congestive heart failure is pulling it off over younger, spryer rich douchebags.
Not a basketball court or a bowling alley.

Republicans sound ridiculous making that comparison.

This isn’t an “upgrade” to the White House, it’s a monument to himself. Trump has no intention of ever leaving — he’s building his own palace and tearing down the entire East Wing to make it happen.
