The Trump administration is pushing to expand grazing on public lands while reducing its already low cost, under the false premise that it will fill America’s coffers.

Wealthy ranchers are profiting — at the expense of taxpayers.

A ProPublica and High Country News investigation found that government programs supporting grazing on public lands prop up a wealthy few while harming the environment. The Trump administration is supe...

This is shameful, tacky, trashy and illegal. Adding your disgusting criminal name on top of the name of a great President makes you look weak and pathetic. It’ll always be The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center For The Performing Arts.

100% agree. Ironically, this is the only version of "broken windows" that actually makes any sense, because it has to do with the individual behavior of one person going from getting away with small crimes to getting away with big crimes, instead of being some vague theory about general contagion.
My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
It must be wild to get to abuse the public then pay for it with the public's money

Convenient low cost storage for private vehicles is a huge part of their competitive advantage as a mode of transportation.

No wonder people fight so hard to maintain it. Otherwise they may have to face the reality that cars don't work well in cities without a ton of public subsidy.

We're in a climate emergency, our DOTs are out of $, we need affordable transportation. People have to bike.

We need accountability from engineers, police, courts, each other.

Not this:

In our screwed up country all you have to do is say "oops I'm sorry" after running a red light and hitting a bike rider with your car (and sending them to hospital w a broken ankle) and the police won't even give you a ticket. I'm fuming!!

This is how pro-driver bias influences PPB.

I think there's a categorical difference between what we knew about Trump before (inappropriate, walked in on Miss Teen in dressing rooms, talked about dating his daughter) and what may be emerging in the Epstein case, which is acting on those impulses. One is gross, the other is criminal.
Until this week? Wow. Am I the only one who feels like anybody who didn't know CHOSE not to know? Were we all watching the same interviews with him and his daughter, on buses, his rides down escalators, knew he was lying about being bffs with Epstein, etc., etc., ETCETERA??? Good article though.

Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.

This Sunday is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, and tragically we continue to add to that list of names in East Portland. Just last month, 3 of our neighbors were killed by drivers all within 1 mile of each other.

We know these roads are dangerous. 🧵
One bicycle rider, one wheelchair user, and one walker killed in separate incidents in places notorious for dangerous driving and with a long history of serious crashes.

We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.

If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
