I finally did this. I made clear it was because I won't knowingly fund racism and anti-trans propaganda, since they record this information, but I made sure to be polite and friendly because it's not the fault of the person taking my call.
The BBC are raising the licence fee after a year in which 300,000 households stopped paying it. No better time to cancel your licence fee if you haven't already done so.
Boycott the right-wing propaganda outlet and consider donating the money you save to trans charities and trans people in need.

@gemmaclark.bsky.social contacted schools directly and had successes getting them to ditch Twitter. I'm sure there are people inside schools who would appreciate the encouragement.
Why are Scottish schools still using Twitter when the site was used to create deepfake sexual images of children? Why is the Scottish government permitting this? Why are councils permitting this? Why are teachers permitting this? If you care about the safety of children get off that site right now.

We saw this with the frothing GC reaction the Elliot Page. He didn't come out as trans until he was in his 30s and the transphobic weirdos and all their sock accounts started crying, screaming, throwing up.
The stealth transphobic rhetoric simultaneously argues;
1. That younger people must wait to know they are sure
2. That older people have waited too long to transition and be socially accepted.
The end game is the elimination of trans people.

Alternatively, if you come out as a child with the support of your parents, you are able to experience this adjustment within a context of loving support. Plus your appearance is pretty easy to adjust, bc young people look more alike.

What's currently happening in the US *is* Project 2025 conceived by The Heritage Foundation, the one Trump pretended not to have heard of. Imagine having to lie so hard about your intended policies. They've barely begun.
I'd always thought of queer as meaning 'gender non-conforming', however that might be expressed, but then decided just 'non-conforming' was good enough to qualify. However, I now ask 'conform to *what*, exactly?' Still working on that.
From a slur to a word for unification and empowerment, the word Queer has become a word that many people in the LGBTQIA+ community have embraced.
