At Google, speech critical of ICE is censored from the company's internal platform, employees who speak out are served with warnings, and leadership refuses to acknowledge a petition that's now gotten 1,200 employee signatures.

Inside the worker-led push to get ICE out of Google:
Google is stifling anti-ICE speech in the workplace as 1,200 employees call on the company to cut ties
The search giant has made it harder and riskier to protest its policies. Workers are still fighting back. Plus: A community takes down a data center, QuitGPT, and the 5 worst Super Bowl AI ads.

The problem is not that they're passing, the problem is that we're having to flunk them in high numbers and report them for academic dishonesty and all of it eats time no one has for children who have been handed toys they cannot control or function with or without. This is bigger than grades.
If students can pass your coursework using AI, that is a you problem.
Ill be clear about why I am so angry and critical about it: Im seeing a good portion of my students who have imbibed the notion that they dont have to read, think or write for themselves because ChatGPT/CoPilot will do their thinking for them, and its terrifying. It should scare all of us.

We're hitting back with a podcast designed to give high profile scientists and science communicators centre stage.

Homan proven a liar. Again. This happened after his press conference.
Someone was abducted at 10 AM by ICE on Central Ave. Their coworker says they’ve lived here for over 20 years, are documented, and have 3 kids who were born here.

Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

Yes! This really feels like it. Rich, powerful, famous people are often stupid in exactly this way: they assume they have access to all the secret geniuses of the world, don’t realize that most of that is a mirage of wealth, and aren’t sharp enough to catch frauds. So you get these Gatsby figures
I agree, he sounds more like Bernie Madoff. His name spread through the rich-people-grapevine. "I've got a guy" type speak, a guy who gives good advice and is valuable to know. But when you look at his actual accomplishments, he just never said 'no'.

This is what is so pernicious about MAHA: it’s basically a takeover of HHS by the wellness grifting (quackery) industry, and their *core skill* is in making bad ideas, whether it’s anti-vaccinationism or this, sound healthy and sensible.
Alternatively: We are imposing new requirements to private businesses that will discourage them from serving people on SNAP.
Brooke Rollins: "You talk about those on food stamps. A lot of people buy their groceries, especially those that are on food stamps, from convenience stores. We're now requiring those retailers to double the amount of healthy food that they stock if they're gonna take the EBT card."

Is it time for my self-defense lecture again?

Lots of folks ask me what the best self-defense thing is to train. I always answer: track and field.

The best thing you can do to defend yourself is not be where someone can hurt you. Running away is ideal.
