The fact that people make life and death choices based on literal delusions and the delusions of others co-signed by misinformation is crazy.
It’s delusional to think Obama was a “center right” politician, whatever that means.
The Democratic Party is not center right nor are you compromising on your morals if you voted for a Democratic presidential candidate.

We live in the real world, not left twitter with fake charts and bad theory.
The ACA is worth fighting for, and it's a winnable fight.
Open enrollment for ACA plans began yesterday in Idaho.

One couple got notice that their monthly premium next year would jump from $51 to $2,232 as subsidies expire.

25,000 Idahoans are expected to be priced out of coverage.

This is what's at stake in Trump's shutdown.

“Deplorables” was a scandal for years and she wasn’t even in the government yet. This is the White House Press Secretary, whose salary is paid by the American public.
Leavitt: "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals."

To celebrate making it 25 years in this generally cursed industry, TPM asked 25 writers we admire to reflect on a moment from the past 25 years of digital media.

Call 'em tweets. It's a useful generic term, and just because it originated with some long-ago, long-dead web site there's no reason we can't or shouldn't all use it for microblog posts now.

So true, Queen! The nine most terrifying words in the English launguage are, "I"m from the Government and I'm here to help!" 👏👏👏👏👏

this was so damaging, and i think it's part of why journalism has been subsumed by the personal essay at every level. to be clear this is not the fault of the writers, it's the fault of the people who made these strategic content decisions
I think a lot of people don’t realize how insanely pervasive and coercive the early 2010s “the only way to make it as a young writer is to publish insanely confessional, raw online essays about your darkest secrets and trauma” culture was.
The right-wing is entering levels of recursive nostalgia for it's own asshole I did not think was possible.

It's not just a lifelong prejudice. It's that the media has a documented bias against left wing protest for at least half a century. When they can't frame them as violent or inconvenient they frame them as infective
For one thing, these protests have been happening in every state from small towns to suburbs to big cities.

Pundudes like Brooks can't let go of their lifelong prejudices even when they see it's an emergency. He'd turn down a lifeboat in a flood if it was piloted by someone registered Democratic.

As an experiment, go back and read some pieces by young writers on places like Vice, Cracked, and Gawker from between, eh, 2009 and 2014.

Whenever I do, I’m always kinda shocked at how radically the dominant tone has changed (for the better, even if online media is in a way worse place overall).
If you can't figure it out, maybe you're not actually valuable to the organization employing you in the first place; which is my roundabout way of saying laying off the c-suite can be a great way to save on labor costs.
Executives keep complaining about "challenging conditions" like they're the only person with a job that's hard. The whole value proposition of the MBA is having the skills to successfully *solve* hard business problems.
Matt Damon has multiple pod/talk show clips talking about this. Streaming collapsed the industry by killing backend sales; which, like, is something the business-side of production needs to solve.

If you're feeling really cut-up about the MEsen primary, I'd really recommend you sign up for a phonebank shift and talk to some voters in Portland or Lewiston.
