weird to me that there's a whole class of people on here who will see this and immediately run to their keyboards to announce that it would terrify them, personally, out of voting. have some self respect

We are never going to get Medicare-for-all as long as we're partnered with a left wing dominated by dipshit bsky power-users, with no ideas or vision beyond chasing SEO keywords; furiously yearning to knife progressives in the back, at the drop of a hat.

GOTV is something normal, everyday campaign volunteers do all the time with their neighbors, and I'd advise users wringing their hands in despair, to try volunteering for a single (1) shift.
you personally have the ability to secure elections for yourself and your neighbors.

I’m on the scene at Franklin and 1st. A convoy of about a couple dozen ICE/HSI agents broke the entryway into an apartment building at 6am. No warrant presented. Less than 24 hours ago, Tom Homan announced the end of large convoys in Minnesota… Bullshit.

"You have been marked for de-" fuckit, Boone, hand me the dynamite.
Three episodes in Nipton but the first one end with them blowing themselves up with dynamite and the second one starts over but they get shot down by the legion.

News professions are constant publishing an endless stream of 'you can't technically say the wallet inspector isn't taking people's wallets and then inspecting them'-tier dipshittery; and I'm tried of pretending otherwise.
I have zero bandwidth to develop the idea, but the last decade has given rise to a gulliblity style, where a source’s statement is treated as the story regardless of whether it’s true or plausible. It creates stories that are technically true but functionally misinformation. You see it everywhere.
i think people should consider the extent to which bannon, a known bullshit artist, knows that you will see this and panic. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Numerous subreddits are still wall-to-wall with Violentacrez supporters, to this day.
a lot of people forget that r/jailbait was a front-page subreddit in the 2010s

this was literally the whole point of MeToo

i'm really getting my woke juices flowing here but offloading this type of behavior onto "billionaires" is really downplaying the structural patriarchal violence on display

"What if they tear gas a polling place."

I don't know, but they're tear gassing people in Minnesota right now and more people keep coming out of the woodwork to fight back. When you do this shit you're engaging in voter suppression. Just stop it.

I'm going to a conference on Friday about the Supreme Court's reliance on "history and tradition," and truly one of the many many problems with originalism is how it often flattens & distorts history, creating jurisprudence that reflects the history of domination but not the history of resistance

Basically the answer to "where will the jobs come from?" is never about a facet of the new technology that creates jobs.

The new jobs come from consumer surplus. People have *more money* and they spend it on having people do stuff.

Truly remarkable coincidence that the quality of the Post's reporting declined at the exact same time Bezos and Lewis decided that their core mission was to alienate the paper's core readers as frequently and aggressively as possible. What are the odds www.lawyersgunsmoneyblog.com/2026/01/pivo...

Maybe it’s just a little accidental oversight but I find it rather worrisome when I encounter US activists who don’t appear to have devoted much time to looking at what activists OUTSIDE the US have been doing over the last 20 years.

i think that the issue is that people who think we’re resistant to persuasion are correct that they disagree with us at a foundational level on things like “is disorder good” and “do we just want to start fires” and i haven’t seen arguments that would change our minds on that

Trump let the first ceasefire lapse, then got to sign a shiny new one, which is presently falling apart, but how many Americans will ever hear about it?
