the thing i think people don’t want to hear is that GOP are kind of caving to Dems if you look at this from a lot of angles. this isn’t hopium or copium because as an anti-ICE person i really wanna see a fight on that issue, but i think it’s clear the GOP is giving Dems a lot by conventional rules
Generally speaking I think the stance of "no deals at all, burn it all down" is not unreasonable at this moment. But it also misses a lot of nuance of what happens during a shutdown.
That said, this about the best deal that I thunk dems could get with 0 power. Maybe even better than expected.
