This story is people telling their stories in their own words and it's really great. I finally took the time to read the whole thing late last night and had a good cry. Anyway. No paywall on it today. Read it if you want to know what things are like here through the eyes of people living it. ❤️
Hey, the excellent Minneapolis arts and culture magazine Racket took down their paywall for the day, so you can go read their coverage of the occupation unhindered. Start here: racketmn.com/voices-of-th...

Power strips are not powerful enough to handle the energy demands of a space heater, so you're risking a fire. Plug them into the wall.

sure, when you put it that way (or literally any other way) it sounds bad!
a heavily armed paramilitary force with legal immunity is occupying a city and going door to door kidnapping non-white adults and children in furtherance of an explicitly white nationalist political project

Boy, sure would be a shame if people brought loud AF whistles to where ICE was doing their horrible bullshit. I'm certainly not linking how to make them with a 3D printer or to a post with more resources in the comments.

We could have paid teachers at any time.

We could have simply offered a dignified wage to do any of the work we need done at any time.

San Fransisco could be clean right now.

It was always a matter of political will.
ICE AGENT: “I love my job. I can’t believe they pay me to do this. I’d do it for free. I only went to high school and I make $200,000.”

This, by the way, is one of the places the political push for "public syllabi" goes: Even more people who literally do not understand what they're trying to evaluate almost certainly using LLM's to ask "is this stuff transgender or DEI" & then making administrative decisions based on that output.
1. Texas A&M has banned a philosophy teacher from teaching Plato because it has "gender ideology" in it.

The banning stems from excerpts from Plato’s Aristophanes’ Myth of the Split Humans and Diotima’s Ladder of Love.

Want to Stop ICE? Go After Its Corporate Collaborators.
ICE can’t function without help from the private sector. So we should force the private sector to stop helping.

I see some people debating the logistics of the invasions. "This doesn't make much sense. The oil industry doesn't even want this oil." Logistical reality doesn't matter to the invaders. Consequences don't matter. Ethics certainly don't matter. They want to violate other counties. They enjoy it.

The Venezuelan invasion is primarily about the sadistic ecstasy our leaders experience as they invade, violate, steal, murder. That's at the core of all this. They're talking about invading more countries because they don't want these feelings to stop.

Saying "X is a distraction from Y" is as effective as telling someone who's upset to "calm down." It's a message about the message, signaling I am trying to shape your views, which makes people recoil. (It's also often untrue - MAGA can multitask their evil.)

In distraction news, my sister and I watched Wakanda Forever. It was good.

Funny thing, though, they gove the origin of Namor's name as Spanish for "no love"

He basically named himself "Involuntary Celibate."

Ruin their day.
I call Tommy Tuberville every fucking week, multiple times a week, because he can be evil but I don't have to let him do it without pushback.

So I don't need to hear excuses. I call the dumbest senator in the country. 😂

They want to wear us down but remember - joy and self-care in the face of someone trying to tear you down is also resistance.

Sending y'all love and support!

Now that Marvel and DC are doing crossovers, I really hope we get a @gailsimone.bsky.social story where the Secret Six meets the Thunderbolts!

(or one where Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn meet Mystique and Destiny #ISupportWomensWrongs )
