I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Every year, as turkey feast day approaches, I am reminded of someone I heard about who wanted to throw a frozen turkey out of a moving car window at a random intersection, rather than offering a rooster at a crossroads as per the lwas' demand.
