Respect to these folks. The people who own the Horseshoe branding are craven anti-union capitalists and they love sending emails about how unions are bad for workers.

I can't even think of anything to say in a non-english language that I can still get away with saying here.

Chuck Schumer doomed us all because he didnt want to have his public flights delayed anymore and the inconvienice of him flying back to NYC to vote for groper Andrew Cuomp was the last straw

Imagine the levels of contempt you must have for your voters to post this. Playing in their faces like this. Incredible.
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

The power of mu! There's an obscure bit of Chrono Trigger lore involving Masa & Mune's big sister, Doreen, that actually helps make sense of a random hanging thread in Super Mario Bros. 2. This one got super weird!

I want senators who clean clock their friends in the face when you know they are wrong.

I'd right cross my bros in a second if they are putting themselves or another in danger even a single life.

US Senators are harming millions of Americans and not one bow thrown? Hollow people, no heart.
To be a U.S. Senator is to be an institutionalist. Even Bernie Sanders cares more about his role and friendships in the senate than he does about his ideological project. If ideology came first he would lead the charge on ousting Schumer. But that’s his friend.

Also many of the so called NO votes were not no votes. They supported the move to reopen and are glad to have those who supported cloture do so. Now they can make their little posts on social media and credulous voters will postback: 'thanks to my Senator for standing up.' Pure WWF.
It's just that they already voted to move this forward in the only vote that mattered. Today's vote only needs 50 so the Dems can now vote no and pretend that they didn't advance it when they already did.

Also to this point:

If Sega created Sega Seaman in 1999 with several hundred responses to spoken words & even more in the original japanese version, AND got Leonard Nimoy to narrate on a shoestring budget then surely any company in 2025 can do the work of writing and recording real dialogue.
People defending the chatbot NPC situation in Petit Planet insist that you can't expect a writer to come up with appropriate responses to anything a player might ask

I'd argue the NPC chatbot doesn't seem to be able to do this either, contradicting itself and stating generic gibberish.

I think this is absolutely right. They memorized the lessons of that era — triangulation, bipartisanship, government is somehow shameful — and can’t adapt to the very different world we’re now in.
IMHO, most of the Dem leadership came up through the ranks during the Reagan years and started getting seniority during the 1994 shellacking so a fighting retreat is their standard tactic. They don’t do brinksmanship well.
