End-to-end encryption means whatever you're sending is not readable BETWEEN the ends.

If you own an endpoint, you can read it.

That is how the FBI has historically gotten data from Signal chats.

There's no magic. You just go where the plaintext is.

Please stop believing vague scares about this.

To avoid the possibility Holocaust remembrance might lead to empathy for migrants, Trump's antisemitism envoy claims Anne Frank "was in Amsterdam legally."

In reality, Margot Frank received a summons to go to a labor camp on July 5, 1942. After ignoring this call, they were in Amsterdam illegally.

Mamdani dropped into remote classes to apologize for not giving the kids a full snow day. He read to the little ones and the older ones were notably excited. It’s a hell of a thing.

One thing I found deeply moving about resistance in the Twin Cities was the universalism of loving your neighbor, the philosophy driving the opposition to the ICE/BP invasion. I couldn't help but notice the contrast with the blood and soil-ism of Miller and Vance. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Kristi Noem and Kash Patel are right: Alex Pretti had no right to possess a gun during a protest. What if he had killed someone?

The altnps account is the 13th most followed account on Bluesky and has more followers than every single news outlet other than the NYT, NPR and Meidas Touch on here. They actively spread misinformation and exploit gullible old people for cash. Accounts this unethical do not deserve to exist.
Completely insane. AltNPS claimed to know the name of Alex Pretti's killer, refused to say it because "the truth always comes out," and then just deleted the post.

A man was executed on the street in my hometown, and AltNPS is using that as an excuse to vaguepost for attention.

Like, there is just not any kind of coherent ideological definition that places Mandami outside the context of US liberalism. This only makes sense if we're defining these terms solely in the context of cliques and based on affect, style, and which social media faction you associate them with.

And, tonight, the network's flagship news program -- 60 Minutes -- ran a clip show of old celeb interviews to "celebrate the movies" rather than put together an episode focused on what's going on in Minnesota.
The person who publishes the Free Press — where the words “Minneapolis” and “Minnesota” never appear tonight — also runs CBS News.

Mamdani was already leading during that first debate, but the wind really went to his back after the “What will be your first foreign visit?” question. The others said Israel; he said, in almost these exact words, “Why would I go anywhere? I’d be Mayor of New York.”
Not only that, but NYC snowstorms have historically been a landmine for NYC mayors(Bloomberg in Bermuda for example) and in many ways a NYC mayor is only good as how he handled his last snowstorm.

Mamdani made a 90 sec. video discussing when and how the roads would be plowed, crediting the workforce that makes it possible, reminding owners they must shovel, reminding trash may be delayed, saying there’d be a decision about school by noon, and telling kids it’s fine to hit him with snowballs.

It's hard to overstate how much my opinion on this stuff turned around when I stopped using the freebie VS Code AI autocomplete and started using my employer-sponsered Claude Opus
great post, and wonderfully short. (seriously, people need to learn to write less.) this describes well how I use the tools. I would add: only use the best tools and models. don't use Copilot just because it's there in VS Code, nobody likes it
Things are changing in software dev with agentic tools being viable, but the fundamentals haven't. I wrote a blog post covering my mental model for what agents are good for, and how to use them effectively that transcends any specific tool. Check it out: zed.dev/blog/on-prog...
