Retired, married for ages, based in Normandie but usually in a motorhome somewhere else. Love music, festivals, sewing, cooking. Native English and deeply embarrassed about it. Fluent in French, less so in Dutch and German, restaurant Spanish and Italian.

I wasn't there either, but a couple of years later one of my contact lenses became irretrievably stuck to a table in the VIP bar so I like to think a little bit of my DNA was left in the Hacienda.
Opening night at the Hacienda club, Manchester, 1982. I wasn't there.
Hola from Murcia, where we are parked up with a few hundred other vans. We found out there are now two all you can eat sushi places in the mall, so of course we tried the new one. Very blingy decor, but all the food was great esp. the tuna tataki. Onwards we go to Nerja today. Have a great day, all.

The actual regime that these people are hankering after is Dubai: a small elite of citizens, most immigrants to be transient, insecure and all immigrants to be second-class. In reality they would hate the world they would create and would find ever-more ridiculous scapegoats for their failure.
How sad. It's full-on sun and 25 degrees here, but a bit windy. The other good bit about the Murcia aire is it's near a shopping mall and an Aldi, for all those essential supplies. Some vanners stay there for weeks at a time.
Oh I still get them sometimes and I'm way past menopause 😆 I'm in t-shirts while OH has his big jumper on. Saves on the heating!
As the old saying goes, ER medics have a special name for bikers: organ donors. I was so glad when no.1 son decided motorbikes were not for him. He looks cool in the jacket though.
Yeah. I'm a snob too, in that case 😆
Oh yes - we're always in the lookout for bulk offers on Mattino!
OH is nearly 2m tall so we need the headroom! It's still possible to fit ours into a supermarket carpark. Tonight we were parked up near some massive 7.5m twin axle beasts and I genuinely don't know how they manage to go anywhere other than motorways.
Hola from Salou. I grew up in Blackpool, and Salou is like that but with sun. This will not feature on our list of places we want to revisit! Onward to Murcia today, where the motorhome aire is free, huge, and near a wee tram stop to take us to the city of interesting tapas. Have a great day, all!
Being entertained currently by a very drunk Scotsman singing Love is in the Air. At least the sangria is nice.
It's a motorhome - Pilote Reference 6.3 m long, 14 years old and showing its age now!
Hola from Salou. Blackpool with Spanish subtitles - and I grew up in Blackpool so I should know. Not where we wanted to be for our first night in Spain on this trip, but it is what it is. The new campervan aire is not bad. I don't think we'll be back though.
Suppositories are the go-to medicine in France, along with injections, for just about everything. I hope your results are reassuring and that the voltarol works to ease your pain.
Bonjour mes ORCs from Béziers. A calm night until the bin lorries arrived! OH now has my cold so our travel plan y'day was cut short. We went over the Millau bridge, which is impressive from afar, but not when you're on it. On to Spain today with lots of stops for hot drinks. Have a great day, all.
Had an odd dream last night about trying to source pure linen tablecloths in various colours but they had to be covered in sequins and cut to a specific size for a table. Why is my brain wanting to put sequins on linen and then cut them up?
Thank you. Carpe diem is my motto! I got proper shivery yesterday and a blurry head, but today it all seems OK and I got a reasonable night's sleep. I'm still going to wear a mask in the supermarket though.
That was one of my first thoughts! He maybe still owes a favour to a mob boss or three... #Engrenages #Louvre
Bonjour mes ORCs. Gogol Bordello gig on Sat was immense, so much chaotic energy. #SlavaUkraini! We left Paris and are now facing the dreaded wiggly and steep A75 across the Puy de Dôme, heading for Beziers then Figueres. I have a cold, and it's raining, but it's all good. Have a great day, all.

This one million times over
I would laugh if this wasn't so true 😭
Well that's going to put a spanner in the works next time I give blood. I'll have to go for the Seabrook's crisps instead!
Similar happened to us walking around Père Lachaise, but it was a small gravestone with a photo on it, among all the big monuments. A 22 year old who'd gone for a night out to listen to music and been killed at the Bataclan. Same age as our daughter.
