Sadly, I think this is true in pretty much any culture industry and has been for a while. Prob in quite a few other industries too.
Working in games means your answer to the question "If you could do anything you wanted in life, what would it be?" isn't a different career, but the same career in a kinder version of the same industry.

Now wondering if anyone's asked for a version with John Mulaney's head on the guy instead…
Doing this for a third year.

Ever since I drew this cartoon, people have reached out about getting a custom print where the lil guy is wearing a shirt with their favorite band’s logo. For the next few days, I’m going to be taking custom Jukebox orders in my shop (link in bio). Happy holidays 🎁🫶

I own a shop.

I am releasing a collection on Black Friday. As per tradition.

Why do all major Black Friday promotions seem to have been going on since January of 2017 this year.

Oh god AI thanksgivings all over the country. I didn't even think about how much a train wreck it's going to be this year.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

if I don't take my various daily pills, I can barely leave the bed from pain and weakness! it's excruciating! I'll never be "cured" but I can have better quality of life and help in the household and less pain than otherwise, even if I'll never be pain-free
No herbal, acupuncture, massage, diet, magic lemon squeeze way for me to manage parts of my chronic illness. I need pills. Daily pills. When I get my daily pill, I have a very high quality of life and can live the way that feels best to me.

Having the same reaction I had when I was a child when my cousins told me sharks could grow legs and walk to swimming pools if they really didn't like you and wanted to chomp you.
Amazing to learn that Isaac Chotiner can apparently just come for you in your replies. Like suddenly realizing you're swimming in open ocean

This Place is a Prison, These People Aren't Your Friends is a small look at places that were former prisons, jails, police headquarters and examines how they have been transformed, how they engage with the public and whether it is possible to do so ethically. Name your own price for this one.

I have said before and will say again that it is such a loss that we no longer get covers of this caliber for fantasy books.

This art is by Jean-Léon Huens. These covers are for the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. They lit my imagination on fire as a kid.

ive been reading a few contemporary m/m romances and enjoying them bc it feels like being lightly concussed. and/or running everything through a magical realism filter. nothing makes sense but everything feels nice

One year, an old seminarian friend of my Dad's invited us over for dinner. Both had left the Catholic Church.

I was 8. My sister, mom, Dad, and I sat with Father Bill and his new wife, Joan.

At dinner, Joan mentioned she was Christian, but not Catholic.

I chimed in, "You mean, like prostitutes."
