Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

Trump openly frames military force as a commercial acquisition tool. You can’t credibly argue limited self defense, LE action, narrow authorization, or emergency necessity while simultaneously describing infrastructure takeover, profit generation, corporate involvement, and follow-on strikes.
Trump: "We're going to have our very large United States oil companies go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure and start making money for the country. And we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so."

I don’t know who needs to hear this but this is all batshit crazy. We now “own” Venezuela, US troops will take over, & as I said months ago Trump will steal all the oil. And this insane regime didn’t even bother fabricating evidence to justify this. Meanwhile, Republicans have surrendered Congress

trump the type of messy bitch who could have the ideal internationally-accepted face for his wildly illegal imperial adventure and throw it away because she won the nobel prize and he didn't
Trump on María Corina Machado: "I think it'd be very tough for her to be the leader. She doesn't have the support or the respect within the country. She's a very nice woman but she doesn't have the respect."

Counterpoint: fuck America as it is currently experienced
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

Properly insane how the US administration’s position is essentially that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Trump promised no “new stupid wars,” yet he’s starting one with Venezuela without congressional approval.

People can’t afford groceries and millions are losing healthcare, but this is where his focus is.

This is unconstitutional and not what the American people asked for.

Good example of what every elected Dem and candidate should be saying loudly right now:
Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.

I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.
