Truly boggled by the number of people for whom "copy the post text, delete the post, repost with error fixed" is not a viable solution., but "make fraud possible by changing a post that's already been replied to" looks just great.

This is cool

And today I learn that the old brythonic/Dumnonian/Cornish word for high hill was ewhella

Which is why the highest hill in Cornwall is called Brown Willy and the highst hill in Devon is High Willhays

As a fashion historian, I will die on this hill: the point of having blue hair and nose rings (or spiky nails or stripper heels or tattoos or an all-black wardrobe) is not to look pretty or cool. It's to look (and feel) powerful--something many young American women crave right now. And it's working.

Kid Rock: Do you know what is stupid… these chicks running around on campuses with blue hair, five nose rings.

Monosexuals are weird again:

"You don’t have to feel bad about doing any of this, because all you’re guilty of is helping. Educating. At absolute worst, being cruel to be kind. It’s bordering on philanthropic to relieve somebody of what does not serve them"

By 'relieve' she means steal and bin BTW

We have separate rooms, deliberately, even tho we have similar tastes

I don't get the 'boasting about lying for 20 years' columnist thing, it's just weird

I used to get mad when people misused "decimated" to refer to things that weren't 1/10th destroyed, but I've given it some thought and now I've done a complete 360 on it

Tonight there is a game that is going on longer than games can go on and also it's either very exciting if very boring or very nerve-wracking and also maybe someone failed to catch a ball and idk if it was a player or some rich person we hate

I love that I have finally hit a sufficient number of mutuals who post frequently about sports that I get to make up elaborate stories where I try to piece all of the vague & mysterious posts into a coherent narrative.

Me, the sales manager at the company that makes inflatable frog suits: well, you're never going to believe this, but

Especially with the rate of social and tech changes going on, I feel out of touch at 51 let alone 30+ yrs older

Why not? Same reason women are still chronically under diagnosed: the female-typical presentation of what we now call ADHD (one day it won't have a stupid name) is completely different to the male-typical presentation.

Guess which I had?

Trans women are women
Trans women have always been women 2/2

True--but there's definitely a case for more looiing into, say, Russian oligarchs laundering money thru property investments &c

It's almost certainly a tiny %age of stock but it definitely pushes prices up further than needs to be

But there are also too many fucking golf courses ;-)
matgb.uk
See, my quibble with that is I don't think you need to weaken property rights

From what I know, some (no idea what %age) are either investments, second home/city pads or just airb&b gone wrong stuff

All solveable, at least to some extent, by taxing things more effectively

Short fact, it's palpably true

I walk my dog thru the 'green belt' across the valley from home most days. Derelict farm buildings, an abandoned and boarded up convalescent home (TB), some really posh houses/converted barns and some shitty third rate farmland

Just build already

KITCHENWARE COMPANY BOSS: So, did you come up with a name for that revolving food tray, Susan?

SUSAN: No, couldn't be arsed.

A) Tickets would be a lot more than ten quid for an arena event, for a start you've got security

b) how d'you decide who gets the tickets? How many shows? Lottery? First to hit the app at 8am?

Personally I'd dutch auction tickets

I just checked, and my 1990 Oxford Concise agrees it's not, so Websters is wrong

And my was, for some reason, printed in the USA so it's American Oxford so doubly correct (or something? I dunno)

I grow cucumbers

Eva, the Labrador (pictured earlier this year), steals cucumbers

The last cucumber of the season was growing too high for her plump little self to reach.

It was almost too high for me as I harvested.

It dropped to the ground between me and Eva…
