And there’s no way to enforce it. Plus Congress — who’s supposed to be in charge of how the money gets spent — isn’t doing anything about it. So rulings don’t make any difference.

Today he’d be roughed up by ICE, sit in a holding cell for half a year, then put on a plane to El Salvador or South Sudan. Never knew the Cold War could feel nostalgic.

Sure. That’s not what I was responding to. The post above suggested the admin has backed down wherever challenged & my point is that it’s good but not sufficient and shouldn’t be the takeaway, since there are still very real harms going on.

They sure did murder a whole boat of North Korean fishermen for the crime of (checks notes) accidentally seeing them come ashore. Can we start there and move on to these poor torpedoed boats of people way too small and powerless to be considered enemies of the most powerful yoohoo in the world?

I realized in my 20s that without enough sleep there was just nothing that could make it worth being awake.

(Now if only I always remembered that.)
