When our regular game cancels I get to Draw Steel with the remaining players. I had these bad boys and some lizard folk pirates attack the ship of a potion merchant that the players were guarding. Can’t wait to see what else this human produces!

despite managing "the spacenoids" as a whole for @operationv.bsky.social i am still balkanizing the space colonies into like, a minimum of four "general" sub-factions.

Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

I wish I could say I learned through this just through my own insight and wisdom, but the truth is I smashed myself against the rocks several times and had my need for expression and love for design outweigh that need for validation. But I have learned some things i can share...
As someone who is new in this space, I definitely struggle with searching for validation in TTRPGs. Obviously it's bad for my mental health, but any tips that helped you learn that lesson?

I think about the challenge of an art form that needs to onboard total newbies because it’s a niche.
At the same time, there’s this desire for (different kinds of) complexity & sophistication, but we don’t have a sense of beginner/intermediate/expert even within one style/culture of play.

Are any modern-day RPG books written with the assumption that players and GMs are absolutely already familiar with what RPGs are and generally how to run them?
Just curious. Because much of the text of a well-written RPG rulebook is that kind of new-player introduction — and yet it’s… NOT the game.

I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.
