Lots of folks I know suddenly interested in the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Gonna break it down in the TL;DR format based on what I was taught many years ago by Salim Tamari, pre-eminent Palestinian historical sociologist.

It's clear that the only reason this speech happened is because Trump was angry about his approval ratings, all the bad press he's recently gotten over Venezuela and the fact that fewer and fewer Americans are buying his snake oil these days

He thought yelling at America for 20 minutes would fix it

🚨 CDC supervisors are instructing employees with disabilities to email their *personal medical records directly to the CDC Chief Operating Officer*, Lynda Chapman, to obtain temporary telework -- because the formal reasonable accommodation system is overwhelmed.

Yes. Really. 🧵⬇️
As HHS restricts telework, CDC asks employees to ‘bypass’ reasonable accommodation process
Multiple CDC supervisors are raising concerns that a new HHS reasonable accommodation policy conflicts with federal disability law.

Seems interesting that CDC is awarding $1.6M to a university in Denmark to study Hep B vaccine in Guinea-Bissau given recent CDC vax changes and FDA's Hoeg's connections to Denmark. Does this study sound ethical?

By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

When people think about patient safety, hospitals usually come to mind first. But most healthcare is delivered in the community—and from the patient perspective, almost all of that relies on retail pharmacies.

We can’t have safe care without safe pharmacies.

If you want your ACA coverage to be active on January 1, you must’ve enrolled by today. You can enroll up to Jan 15 but then coverage won’t start until February. Meaning they’re asking people to either go without coverage or take a chance on enrolling in a plan they know they can’t afford.
UPDATE: Susan Collins after meeting says goal is to announce a plan, with vote next year to restore expiring subsidies. She said it’s too late to get a bill signed before end of the year.
