I feel like people who don't do art don't really understand the ongoing joke about how we don't wanna write/draw/etc.

We do actually really want to. In fact, it is not possible to stop us.

It's just that a lot of the creative process looks a lot like doing the dishes or staring at the wall.

I do think you having a done story and a considerable amount of years in between is the secret.
I’ve seen people stuck in the endlessly redrawing the first chapter over and over doom loop before. 😔 (I’m going opposite cringe direction of ignoring all the work of my 20s & retooling high school OCs…)

It’s so weird to me. If I abstract an AU enough I’ll just totally cut the cord and make it original, the concept of changing the characters into essentially different people to make a premise work but insisting it’s the same guys is so bizarre.

In addition to the city crawling with ICE and other feds there’s been a lot more unmarked cop cars out and about. 😒

Went on a walk this afternoon to check if the unmarked suv with lights that had pulled someone over was just regular cops and not agents kidnapping someone.

I just love waiting weeks for a doctors appointment only for them to tell you they can do nothing for you until you get some imaging done that insurance is going to try to block even though you need it. 🫠 And that’s JUST to find out if the problem is real and they can give you anything for the pain.

wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
