After executing Alex Pretti on Saturday, ICE has shifted to primarily targeting bus stops and elementary schools in my community this week. I cannot overstate how much of the ICE activity in my community is just targeting places where little kids are.
Video from this morning shows ICE agents deploying tear gas outside a Minneapolis preschool as parents shout, “This is a preschool! There’s kids here!”

Lawful gun owner, no criminal history (he was a fucking nurse! 💔) summarily executed by a death squat from the federal govt . . . where you @, 2nd amendment fetishists? It’s your time to shine

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

Sure why not. Jesus.

I wonder how the troops will feel being sent here to help these vile losers assault & abduct small children, disabled folks, pregnant people & grandparents. I bet some won’t love it.

Either way, literally everyone we know will get up tomorrow and (again) do powerful shit.

Welcome to Minneapolis. Our neighbors have witnessed too many war crimes at this point. Federal agents even left weapons on the ground.

The Minneapolis City Council unanimously adopted a resolution urging Governor Walz to enact an eviction moratorium as an effort to keep families together. Unfortunately, rent is due soon for so many families. 1/

Couldn’t link to this piece on its own (it’s currently in their live coverage, not a stand alone story). These evil, stupid, cowardly jackboots — armed to the teeth — are a menace to all

SAME re. Ilhan (and I love my CM Chowdhury!). And yeah, Council President Payne is doing such amazingwork. Would be swell to see the mayor and gov show a fraction of the leadership that some of our CMs and Mpls legislators are exercising daily

This is the moral and responsible position: thank you @repilhan.bsky.social. Where does *your* Congressperson stand, friends in other districts?
This week, the House votes on DHS funding.

I will not vote to give ICE a single cent.

No more blank checks for a rogue agency that operates above the law, escalates violence, and erodes our most basic freedoms.

This is what I’ll be doing (attending, bringing nonattendee forms from neighbors who don’t feel safe, and advocating for BIPOC nonattendees to get delegate spots). But I fervently wish we could just move it all online. While I appreciate efforts to make caucuses feel more secure, folks are scared
DFL caucuses are in 2 weeks (Feb. 3, 7pm). Notably, the party allows anyone who identifies as a DFLer to caucus, even if they're not eligible to vote.

I would suggest that caucus-goers with the privilege to attend in person, like me, prioritize delegate seats for BIPOC and immigrant non-attendees.
eric eskola brought up the concern that DFL caucuses will be very white due to fear of ICE on TPT’s almanac on friday night too

El Paso is home to a concentration camp that has already killed people this year including at least one Minnesotan.
Today there was one ICE deportation flight out of Minneapolis - St. Paul International, the 28th here this month.

We counted 33 deportees boarding, bringing the estimated total for MSP this January to 1,863.

This flight, like most of the rest this month, went to El Paso, TX.

Can you help us support 3 different families whose lives have been changed due to immigration enforcement? This money will help them catch up on utilities and rent. Most importantly, it will keep their children safe, secure, and prevent them from losing their homes.

If someone ran for Governor of MN on an ‘abolish helicopter flight over the Twin Cities’ and ‘I will show my face on the streets when the federal government attacks our state’ I think they could garner enough support from the urban core to take this thing home.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

If you’re going to run for office in MN and aren’t going to call for Abolishing ICE, it’s going to get harder and harder for you.
