I think people who closely track far right and fascist movements are on a whole, better at recognizing this type of stuff - in part because the tropes and memes and shit all emerge from the same cesspool.

Watched a room full of leftists entertain Soros conspiracies not knowing what it meant
Pointing out antisemitism on the left is one of the most annoying experiences one can have on Bluesky, not only do you get actual antisemites in your replies but also other leftists who are reflexively defensive and who bristle at the slightest critique.

I went and did care work for rapid responders and front line mutual aid people in Minneapolis last week and I’m trying to figure out how we could scale that up to bigger than just me when I can pull it off.
Secondary ring of care is how we reduce and distribute burnout. Caring for your neighbors means you then need care as well.
Care providers need a secondary ring of care provision for themselves and I think us less impacted rural folks could be a good back fill.

I wish we had a good way of fielding a volunteer powered national relief force for all of the people out there and all of the businesses that don't feel safe to open
I’m seeing more and more Minneapolis/Minnesota people naming that they are burned out and I just hope people allow themselves to change their pacing from sprint to marathon or better yet, a relay.

Slow down if the alternative is you crashing out and not being able to do anything.

Like I said a couple years ago, leftist antisemitism is getting worse. Like, we're at the Naming The Jew stage and next I guess will be the triple parentheses

tu quoque isn't even a real logical fallacy! It's just a thing anti-communists came up with during the 1950s!
"whataboutism" isn't a real thing, it's a concept invented by anti communist journalists to deny the real criticisms of the jim crow south that communists were using in the 50s lol

I for one think it is not good to speculate on crimes we basically know nothing about
For some reason, I'm thinking about how aggressively Savannah Guthrie has interviewed Trump. During an October 2020 town hall, she took him to task for spreading conspiracy theories, COVID, and election denial. She scolded: "You're not like someone's crazy uncle who can just retweet whatever." 🤔

Huh - that probably would have made for a killer campaign ad.

The funny thing is SPANISH IS A COLONIZER LANGUAGE.

Reason there's so many counties that speak it is because THE SPANISH INVADED EVERYWHERE.

Anyways, fuck Spain.
I mean the same people complained about kpop demon hunters for the most part

Bc it’s the non whiteness that bothers them

This was that first frightening video in which masked men grabbed her off the street on her way home.

Now masked men are grabbing people off many streets every day. Many of the charges are dropped, only after harms to those who are kidnapped.
An immigration court dropped its case against Turkish graduate student Rumeysa Ozturk, a little less than a year after federal agents arrested her on a street near Tufts University

The president has absolutely authority to view any documents they wish
The files were sealed by court order. The proper way would be to overturn that court order. Given how hostile the federal courts were to the Biden administration, there's not a high chance that would have been successful.

I wouldn't suggest breaking the law and releasing them any other way.

the only way for trump to have won this one would have been to have him embrace it from the beginning and be on camera dancing in the presidential box (impossible). this was a no-win situation for his base.

This is Tom Homan's actual goal and why he is focused on law enforcement cooperation.
wrt to some of the replies to this post, part of why the media has “moved on” is because it has become extraordinarily difficult to document ICE activity on the ground, outside of them arresting citizens.
A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:

I like her sign because if anything her sign works better if we raise the rate.
San Francisco's "March for Billionaires" was today.

It was, numbers-wise, a bit of a dud. But not a dull affair: a "We ❤️ you Jeffrey Bezos" sign, at least one polycule, & a participant arguing to "remove" journalists "as a class...just like Germany."

San Francisco’s billionaire bacchanal a big bust
Only a handful of pro-billionaire agitators actually showed for an apparently earnest “March for Billionaires” at Alta Plaza Park.

Again this is not correct. By this logic there fundamentally is no rule of law outside of power. This is a fundamental agreement with Republican partisans who believe because they won an election they do not have to follow the law. This isn't a civics lesson - it's instructions for authoritarianism
The "best thing" about Trump's 2nd term is that folks get a free civics class every single day. Lesson one: When parties lose state/national elections in such a consequencial way (losing control of all 3 branches), that party can only watch in horror from the back seat until the next election.
