Ash Sarkar, "Jim Ratcliffe is a stinking hypocrite"

"He became a tax resident of Monaco to save £4 billion that could have gone towards British schools, the British NHS, towards British defence, instead he decided he wanted that money for his own pocket"

NB Labour are not left-wing
Robert Peston, "Wouldn't you regret Reform UK coming through in Gorton and Denton if The Greens split the left vote?"

Zack Polanski, "We cannot say that Keir Starmer's Labour would be a left wing vote"

So it’s Greens versus Reform
Hope versus Hate
A brilliant local candidate who loves her community
Versus a full time grifter bussed in from London
It’s not hard

Meet Hannah Spencer - Green MP candidate for Gorton and Denton, and the only vote to stop Reform.

Fascists gotta fash
Jim Ratcliffe, a tax resident of Monaco who has legally avoided an estimated £4 billion in UK taxes, says,

"The UK is being colonised by immigrants, isn't it?"

Ed Conway, "You met recently with Nigel Farage, didn't you?"

Jim Ratcliffe, "I did"

The reason there are no Starmerites is because there's no such thing as Starmerism. There's no ideology, no vision, no political beliefs; only, technocratic managerialism that continues to drag us all down to the bottom. Problem is: if you only manage a corrupt system, it makes you corrupt, too.
"They’ve attacked all these people, in a desperate attempt to make clear to racists and social conservatives that they hear them. If the racists and social conservatives were actually going to vote for them this would merely seem abhorrent. When they clearly aren’t, it’s stupid too."
Everybody Hates Keir
How did Starmer go from landslide to endgame in under two years? Also this week: the most murderous mammal on earth; and every thought I have about an insane train plan.

Clive Lewis ought to be the next Labour PM. He won't be, of course, coz even if he put himself forward, he wouldn't be allowed onto the ballot. The New Labour neoliberal project continues unabated, even without Mandelson & McSweeney at the top of the governing party.
I told @time.com I'd like to see those who have betrayed this country, betrayed our party, betrayed our movement, to face the full force of the legal system and the law.

Oh, you are one of the Labour cultists who still believe they are a left-wing party?

Don't you understand? When a party is taken over by neoliberal bigots it becomes a neoliberal bigoted party.

You had a chance of being a left-wing party and blew it.

Abandon ship.

Ahh Stewart Lee! "Bloody Huguenots, coming over here, from France, bloody religious heretics... doubting transsubstanciation"
Did you know, some of Nigel Farage's ancestors were French Huguenots who fled to England in the late 17th century, escaping brutal religious persecution when the French state stripped them of rights - and under Reform Ltd policies they'd have been sent packing!

I'll be surprised if he survives a fortnight! Or, maybe, the day after the forthcoming Gorton & Denton by-election result "disaster".
After changes at No 10, is the Prime Minister now on borrowed time? My Eastern Eye column this week on suggests Keir Starmer probably does have 3 months in office to persuade his Ministers & MPs against changing leaders, but surviving beyond May look more perilous.

This'll work out in the same way that sacking Kwarteng did for Truss, I'd warrant!
NEW: McSweeney allies suggest he carried can for Starmer over Mandelson decision. They say it was wrong to suggest he pushed for appointment, and was careful to ensure others shared views, which were unanimous. “He gave his advice, but that’s all it was. Keir made the decision.”

That’s what the emails reveal, unfortunately: a clique of fascist billionaires are working to destroy democracy to maximise their personal freedom and power, and your governments are ideologically subservient to them, if not actively on the take.

Peter Mandelson was in charge of this Labour government; not Starmer - who is sitting at the front of a driverless DLR train *thinking* he's driving; nor McSweeney. Mandelson was at the top, calling the shots, making the decisions. His role as US ambassador was a cover story for real influence...

@jeremycorbyn.bsky.social : "I can just confirm to the House, under my leadership [of Labour] Mandelson had no role, no influence & no part to play"

It was precisely because Corbyn didn't represent the interests of the ruling class (like Mandelson did), that his leadership had to be destroyed
