The AI bubble RAM crisis is caused for non-existent problems by non-existent money for a non-existent infrastructure to meet non-existent demand to make non-existent business and will utterly destroy real business based on real demand and real infrastructure built with real money for real problems.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

“Earth is a pleasure cruise for 1000 people and we're all just the staff.”
I literally saw a post two weeks back in which a guy with two jobs was flagellating himself because he was short on rent, lamenting that had he donated plasma more, maybe his rent would be on time. This system is deeply fucked. Earth is a pleasure cruise for 1000 people and we're all just the staff.
Is this the “golden age” economy we’ve heard so much about?

I do think there’s a certain type of Democrat that realizes it’s possible we are dealing with a perfect storm where almost any Democrat will win, and are terrified we might nominate radical candidates who will actually engage in needed change instead of status quo corporate centrist bullshit.
One of the interesting things this time around is just how hollow the whole thing sounds. In the past, people have been able to use the empty concept of electability to anoint and position the person they demanded, but now that Republicans are getting obliterated everywhere, that doesn't work.
If I were a Democrat concerned about winning elections and was hearing that a significant number of voters wouldn’t support Gavin Newsom in 2028, I would simply stop pushing Gavin Newsom in 2026.

kind of fucked up that secular protestantism abolished sin but also identifies sin with "anyone holding me to account for any moral trespass whatsoever"

"running a private prison" is already probably in the top 5 worst things you can do with your time on this precious earth.

"running a private concentration camp" easily shoots to number 1.

stop CoreCivic!
We stopped Platform Ventures KC from selling their $80,000,000 warehouse to DHS to create a new concentration camp in South KC, we can also stop CoreCivic.
CoreCivic hurts everyone inside and outside of their for-profit prisons.

Join us this Tuesday at 5:00PM outside of Leavenworth City Hall and show solidarity with the Leavenworth community to say NO to CoreCivic’s detention camp.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

I thought "literaly genocide is bad" was not an unreasonable ask but I've been spit out by thousands of US folks that thought genocide had to remain negotiable given the circumstances of the previous elections, so however reasonable your ask, I wouldn't be too sure.
I don't think these are unreasonable asks
Again, all I'm asking is that any Democrat who wants my vote support 1. Reverting Trump's anti-trans policies, 2. Commit to fighting against the future erosion of trans rights, and 3. Support legislation codifying trans rights into law.

Very weird how many of you centrists think that's unreasonable

Maybe I'm an idiot, but aren't we in this exact situation because everyone kept compromising their values???
This attitude of “well, I’ll vote to stop MAGA but only if I don’t have to compromise any of my values” demonstrates a lack of urgency about the situation that I simply cannot relate to. “We deserve better”—ok. Maybe after we stop the fascist takeover I’ll have emotional space for that.
