THIS. So many people seem to think that if they believe they’re “telling the truth”, it’s okay. But bullying is OFTEN truthful. It’s not like calling someone “fatso” stops being bullying if they’re actually overweight, or calling them “crybaby” stops being bullying if they actually cry a lot!

That's the thing with dopamine being tied to task initiation - there's a set of gears that won't - CAN'T - engage in my brain, but none of my problems are with analysis.
I can be fully aware of all the necessary steps, and stressing about starting, and just... not.

It looks like in this movie, the space travel company is owned by a Christian conservative trillionaire who makes his employees wear Jackie Kennedy-style pillow box hats and use the expression "Christian name" instead of the neutral "given name". The scene with tapirs in Africa looked weird too. 🙄

What makes is difficult in the current media environment is that Democratic politicians can say all the right things about being willing to hunt Glonzo, but there’s this expectation that someone like Jamelle Bouie should also not be allowed to say in a column “Glonzo isn’t real, you fucking morons”
this is true, but at a certain point enough people believe in Glonzo that you have to acknowledge that’s the terrain and maybe promise something minimally harmful like armed guards at power stations rather than just screaming that they’re morons.

My false-gender identity was rather a mask, not a personality. It had no emotions and life motivations of its own, besides just following societal expectations. All my emotions and motivations belonged to my true-gender self, and being forbidden to show them on the outside for years was the hardest.
How do you explain what happened to your past self once you transitioned?
Are they dead? Alive within you? Never alive in the first place? Or something else entirely?

There's an implicit societal belief that traditionally masculine activities always give more free choice, psychological satisfaction and physical safety. It contradicts plenty of facts, and also it implies that transgender women's motivations cannot exist or be adequate.

Realized in hindsight that if the Sowers' took the biological species that lived on Earth 80 thousand years ago and transplanted them onto previously terraformed planets, they could easily take Neanderthals and mammoths to see how they'd develop if they weren't exterminated by the Homo sapiens.
