“Not all men” but in the case of Gisele Pelicot, it was her husband and 80 other men from a small region of France.

Men of all ages and backgrounds.

Men who were married with children.

No one tried to help her.

Now it’s happened again, this time in the UK. 🧵

a slightly different angle but I found out that a few archives around LA had old books bound in human skin so I did a story about unusually bound books and of course I had to go look at and touch them all. My favorite was a copy of "Moby Dick" in whale dick skin
I think we need a mega thread of everyone's craziest archive stories.

Don Davies, NDP interim leader, gave an extremely funny speech at the Parliamentary Press Gallery Dinner recently.

(The NDP is Canada’s social democratic party. They lost a lot of seats this recent election — a less than inspiring leader plus people coalescing around the Libs to stop the Cons.)

When the police call for police to be taken off mental health calls - as police chiefs have done in Toronto, Victoria and elsewhere - we should listen, ask who responds instead, and where the money comes from to pay for that service. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I never looked into Nature's AI policy, and, uh, this isn't great 😬
Nature is not the only news outlet that treats AI-generated text and audio differently from images and videos. Other examples include @texastribune.org @spectrum.ieee.org, which I consider to be highly trustworthy resources.

But you have to set the bar somewhere, and I'm open to changing my mind.
This is Nature's current editorial policy.

It seems like there's a chunk of news outlets that treat AI-generated text and audio to a different standard from AI-generated images and videos. I'm not sure if I'm convinced just yet.
