I need to try even harder to tap into that weird shit out there. Ironically it seems like it was easier to find back when the internet was smaller. Now weirdness is a commercial aesthetic. But not the real stuff, the raw stuff that can't have its fangs pulled out. But it's buried beneath the rest.

You know how there are some historical reenactment museum areas where you can go and see people dressed old timey churning butter and making horseshoes? There should be one that's a bar and kids can go listen to reenactors complain about their city's sports teams from different decades

I know I'm over ten years late to this observation but they really made the plot of Captain America that the bad guy wanted to drop two magical atomic bombs on American cities.
It was a fun movie but I'm not sure what to make of that little tidbit.

Got out of college with a degree in cognitive science which could only really get a job in academia. Leveraged being a computer nerd into my first IT job back when you could just do that. Been in it since, mostly healthcare IT since that's where most of my experience is.

I've been playing MechWarrior 5 and got into it. Picked up all the dlc after investing some time and man it adds a lot. Mech combat sports, rival mercenary factions that can intervene in missions, and some really great new maps.
