Remember how just a few years ago during the worst of the pandemic when we saw how the govt can actually do big things and saw that our collective health & well-being are intertwined, and then corporations got mad that they lost a modicum of power and helped fund a backlash of amnesia and fascism?

This is what I mean when I say that present-day covid denialism is right wing. It was a plan born of corporatists and wholly adopted by centrists and even leftists eager to pretend the pandemic was over, which should immediately give anyone thinking about it pause.

a lot of people are under the impression that vaccines prevent transmission. i think this was something that joe biden said himself during a cnn townhall. it’s not true. vaccines don’t prevent infection or long covid. in case you don’t wear a respirator, start wearing one now.
I've had 15 - 20 doses, I've lost count. Still here, unfortunately. Sometimes I wish they were right given the current reality and grim future we face.

Vaccine skeptics said that COVID shots would cause mass death. We're still here.
Their predictions that millions, even billions would die haven't borne out.

Jamaica contributes 0.02% to global greenhouse gas emissions even thought it is 0.03% of the global population.

Meaning JA emits 33% less than its population share would predict.

Meanwhile it’s facing a historic hurricane caused disproportionately by emissions from high income countries.

1) we’ve had the productive capacity to produce food for every living person on this planet

2) we have the logistics to deliver these to every person on this planet

3) we have ideologies and philosophies to know that’s good

That we don’t is a choice. And a moral failure.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Fun, not depressing, funny, not mean, good jokes, also maybe some fun mystery elements.

Basically I need something for people who would watch a new Knives Out movie every ten days or so.
