i do wonder how much of this is because this demo is the hardest one for dems to crack. it makes perfect sense to watch them as bellweathers, but somewhere along the line people just forgot why they were the group that meant success
There is a Kinda Guy that is absolutely gaga for Gruff-Aesthetic White Guy Who Says Kinda Lefty Things. Their love for this is *not* strategic or instrumental to some end, such a person is an object of intrinsic attraction to them, and a strong one at that. They will rationalise anything for this.
I also am baffled that people are assuming this super checkered barely known guy will be super progressive as though we're not living in a post Fetterman universe.

This is what ICE does every day. Hunt little kids who are here legally. They get sent to a place called the “baby jail” in Texas. Very little of it ends up on video like this. But it’s routine. And disgusting.

Jewish people who support this admin should maybe consider the fact that Rubio does not consider you part of Western civilization.

they've even dispensed with the "Judeo-Christian" fig leaf at this point. just openly, sneeringly admitting they hate us.
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.

I have been asked a few times if it is good that mainstream media largely held off on identifying the shooter until after RCMP confirmed, even if some places were spreading it.

This sort of thing is why. As a a journalist, when you get this stuff wrong, you potentially are ruining people's lives.
Radio-Canada apologizes after it aired a photo circulated by anti-trans hate groups online, falsely claiming it was a photo of the Tumbler Ridge shooter. Damaging and irresponsible, and this apology raises more questions about journalistic process imho.

When Americans talk about affordability, I think there are two things happening at once:

1. They see nominal prices rising over time. (“a Big Mac used to cost $3”)

2. They see the 1% accumulating extreme wealth and the labor ladder failing. Labor’s share of income continues to decline.

The SAVE Act and Trump’s weird EO threat today aren’t serious, they’re creating ways for Trump to save face after the GOP gets their asses kicked this year. It’s not that they lost because their policies are unpopular, the other guys stole it. It’s like blaming lag for being bad at video games.

A simple ? from Wajahat Ali pushes Hakeem Jeffries into a crashout:

"Why not lead and abolish ICE? What you're telling us is you want our taxpayer dollars to pay for a lawless masked armed agency to continue terrorizing our cities."

This isn't really a fair comparison point for most American cities since Denmark enjoys balmy weather and 70-80° temperatures for most of the year
One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.
