May you be ruthful, gormful and gruntled.
In case anyone was wondering how the pay-per-mile #tax on electric vehicles will work, it means a mandatory government tracker in every #EV and plug in #hybrid, probably using the driver’s own phone, and linked to a third party #AI

First ever attempt at painting white power armour, with a quick and easily repeatable method. I’m not unhappy with the results. Just don’t mind the awful photo—I promise it’s a million times better in real life.

Before the (relatively modern) concept of omnipresence, this is exactly how all #religion operated. I’ve never seen it so concisely put for a modern audience.

Open AI loses copyright case in Germany.

Judge Elke Schwager summarized the case saying that if you want to build something and need components, "then you purchase them and do not use the property of others."
Blow for OpenAI in Germany as court rules song lyrics used illegally
A German court ruled on Tuesday that OpenAI violated copyright on nine popular songs in a lawsuit that marked another attempt to prevent the free use of artists' content online. The Munich Regional Co...

The women who actually use Kenwood Ladies Pond spoke clearly: the 900 members democratically voted to maintain their trans+ inclusive policy, in place since 2019. 🏊‍♀️

BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

The Guardian claimed today that Starmer’s own supporters are saying that Wes Streeting already has 50 front benchers lined up to back his leadership challenge. Given that there are generally only 90 or so front benchers at a time, this suggests Starmer faces imminent unemployment.

Suddenly when puberty blockers are given to cis kids, the Daily Mail (the same newspaper which backed Hitler btw) finally admits that "their effects are not permanent, and once a child lets their blocking treatment lapse, puberty will just continue as normal."

Which is true for trans kids too.
Because it’s cis kids.
The NHS will quite casually give cis kids whatever treatment they need, even PBs👇
No trials. No concerns about side effects. No moral panic.

Artists behind some of the most popular films of all time are also forging one of the most powerful organized resistances to AI.

With solidarity, class action lawsuits and strong legislation, they're fighting to protect their livelihoods, and pop culture, from big tech.

My latest:
How artists behind Marvel, Alien, and the Matrix movies are fighting AI
With solidarity, legislation, class action lawsuits, and a little help from Guillermo del Toro. Plus, the Luddite Renaissance continues, and I open the mailbag.

AI has taken every episode of Friends, including colour choices and the actors’ voices, and made them into the kind of soul destroying “entertainment” that would be looped forever on the TV screens in the Backrooms…
AI sitcom accidentally a Lynchian fever dream. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and insane lament.

What the holy fuck is wrong with these motherfuckers?

What is it about AI that makes people lose their damn minds and spew bilge from their mouths?

(The key thing here is 'licensing deal' which = money, the love of which is root of all evil.)
