The only silver lining that I can see to any of this is, the status quo is so far gone that there isn't going to be a next chapter that doesn't involve building something new
I feel like the fractures we are seeing in the MAGA coalition have some people hoping the status quo will simply make a roaring comeback, and judicial consequences will simply engulf all of the bad guys. There's really no precedent that supports that expectation.

But I think this is happening because the facade of normal daily life during all this is starting to get too heavy to hold up.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
