ICYDK, publishing is in a decline. Many authors who have had dependable contracts in the past are now scrambling to make ends meet and seeing lower advances and fewer sales than ever. If you see lots of book publicity posts, it's because we're scared and trying to keep our jobs during The Horrors.

This headline makes it seem like it couldn’t be made “because of woke,” but this is actually a really thoughtful piece about maturing & moving on when something no longer brings you joy. (Won’t pretend I didn’t lol at the last line though.)
This was a great read, and kinda sweet. A modest self-reflection on a movie that made his brief film career but he can no longer stand behind.

Welp, just unfollowed one of the last (seemingly) reputable news sources. How depressing & disappointing.
1/ At bargaining yesterday, @propublica.org management said that they should have 100% discretion to replace workers with AI and would not commit to labeling future AI-generated content.
