This is Minneapolis:

As you walk up to a protest demanding an eviction moratorium, the local donut shop owner rolls up with a van full of donuts.

They park in the lot and open the back doors for everyone to take what they want.
This is Minneapolis:

As you take your first "day off" in over a month, you make eye contact with the person stocking the shelves at the grocery store. When they see your necklace they break out into a wide smile behind their mask.

"I am ok because of what you are doing. Thank you." they say.
This is Minneapolis:

Its home.

They crush the local economy, deplete city budgets, illegally withhold congressionally allocated funds. In exchange we get masked Texans running wild in the streets, paid for with tax money that was supposed to be used on our healthcare. Thank you to our federal partners.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.
US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

it's always a good day to join @twincitiesdsa.org
Yesterday, after explaining how he rations his pancreas medication due to cost, my 80 y.o. dad proudly showed me the hi-vis vest he has for neighborhood patrol, and I became acutely aware of the rage I hold for all the actions/inaction that have led us here. So today I joined the @twincitiesdsa.org

I keep thinking about how we won't get a true, full accounting of what's happening in the ICE detention centers until we have new leadership and root out all elements of MAGA from this country. And I don't know what it will take and I do not trust Dem leadership to do it.

Is it good when people are asking you about your immortal soul?
McIVER: Do you consider yourself a religious man?

LYONS: Yes mam

McIVER: How do you think judgment day will work for you with so much blood on your hands?

LYONS: I'm not going to entertain that question

McIVER: Do you think you're going to hell, Mr Lyons?

Congress could hand over the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to the Trump administration, which has already shown its contempt for science and conservation.

if youโ€™re wondering what โ€œunauthorized gray marketโ€ means, it means we literally donโ€™t know what goes into those drugs other than the very limited information that companies disclose
Really wild to see this termed as a "rival" situation because Novo is a pharma company that actually developed and manufactures the drug in question for highly regulated distribution to the public and Hims & Hers is a uhhhh telehealth company selling unauthorized gray market versions of Novo's drug

Welcome to Norm Nation, Chris.
As news coverage ebbs but reports from the streets indicate Operation Metro Surge is still surging, Iโ€™m surprised thereโ€™s not some kind of official report/press conference every day, like we used to get during Covid. Just the best update they have on what happened today? I think I am being naive.

The Bad Bunny show was so good, but it is very funny to imagine the alternate universe that these freaks wanted, where a stadium of tens of thousands of people had to watch a 70 year old man lip sync raps about underage women, then ran a 10 minute in memorium reel for a podcaster

I think it's interesting to compare energy infrastructure investment to transportation in the US. The former we mostly leave to private or subnational actors to figure out (except some grants and tax credits), while the latter is almost exclusively financed by feds and states. 1/x
