I keep thinking about how we won't get a true, full accounting of what's happening in the ICE detention centers until we have new leadership and root out all elements of MAGA from this country. And I don't know what it will take and I do not trust Dem leadership to do it.

I think it's interesting to compare energy infrastructure investment to transportation in the US. The former we mostly leave to private or subnational actors to figure out (except some grants and tax credits), while the latter is almost exclusively financed by feds and states. 1/x

Folks, I too am cheered by the data, but: one of the great challenges we still face is teaching and showing people how βdeporting people with criminal recordsβ has been Not What They Think, since Clinton signed IIRIRA in 1996. You can get deported for a minor theft, like stealing a gift card.
