I know this is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things but these guys are paid with your tax money and have no real job. ICE isn't necessary. They don't get rid of criminals. They just terrorize communities. And THAT'S why they should be abolished. No need for reins. It's not a job!
ICE being extremely professional

The starving crocodiles that have been released onto this ship full of children need better training, proper monitoring, and also must cease any unnecessary eating NOW. No children on the lido deck or 1st class should EVER be consumed. That's why I'm voting an additional $44B for crocodiles.

Abolish DHS. If you can imagine a world before Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, you can imagine a world without the Department of Homeland Security. My latest at @startribune.com. (gift link)
Perry: Abolish ICE? How about DHS altogether.
"We have models for how to structure federal immigration oversight that doesn't rely on an unaccountable masked secret police force running rampant in our streets," David M. Perry writes.

Liam himself is five goddamned years old and should be at home with an adult he trusts right now no matter who his parents are. It would not matter if they were literal criminal masterminds, Liam Ramos is a baby and babies do not belong in prison.
Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

Hey y'all I have seen hanwiskan's printer setup and it is MASSIVE. He's putting out so many whistles. If you can rain some love on his wishlist it will help out a lot!
If you want to help keep whistles flowing in WA, here are some great options:

Hanwiskan has NINE 3D printers running fullstop on whistles. Help him out with some new hotends: www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

They aren’t backing down. They’re just threatening people in other cities. Still illegal. Still unconstitutional. Even if they haven’t yet backed it up by shooting someone in the face.
ICE is changing tactics in Maine: "Now, the volunteers in Maine say federal agents have started showing up at their homes and intimidating them or threatening arrest. Some of them, masked and wearing tactical gear, have issued stark warnings not to follow them." www.pressherald.com/2026/01/23/i...

According to the CBP's records – which we'll take w/ every grain of salt there is, but these are THEIR numbers – 27 "criminal illegal aliens" were convicted of murder FY25 thru Dec FY26. According to various sources (Guardian below), ICE killed 32 people in 2025. People Magazine says "at least" 32.

The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.

Exactly right.

Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.

Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.

Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.

Every possible angle.
They are wounded and flailing. Press the advantage.

Remember that Trump has avoided taking responsibility for anything for his entire life and while Haircut being forced into retirement is definitely a win the buck still stops at the top.

People have had to sacrifice every aspect of their stability to hide from ICE. They lost jobs. They closed businesses. They used up every last bit of their savings—if they had any to begin with. And some people were taken anyway.

If ICE leaves tomorrow, there will still be communities in crisis.

Yes how do we get Miller out of power
Trump is nothing if not ready to sacrifice anyone and anything in order to save his own ass and the single most important thing that could happen right now is someone convincing him that the biggest driver of his unpopularity is not just Bovino and Noem but Stephen Miller personally
Feels like Trump is pretty much unconditionally surrendering as support collapses

A lot more people should know about the bravery Marimar Martinez displayed in the midst of Chicago’s occupation and the murder of two observers in MSP. They tried to kill her, shooting her 5 times, and it’s a miracle she’s alive to push for transparency like this after being persecuted by the DOJ.

“Symbolic compliance” sounds so much better than me shouting: No Shiny Objects, everybody!
The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

If they think they can appease us this easily, they are sorely mistaken.

At every turn, Congress and this administration seem to misread our anger and underestimate our ability to persevere.

We're not stopping until all of them are held accountable.
