My go-to on this in the UK is this 2018 study where 1/3rd of employers admitted they would break the law and refuse to hire someone on the grounds they are transgender, and that was before things reached a real fever pitch in the last few years. www.crosslandsolicitors.com/site/hr-hub/...

it’s honestly shocking how shamelessly people will claim that trans people are a “new phenomenon” and that their suspicion of us is based on “reasonable concerns” when the ancient and violent history of our oppression has been literally carved into the bones of the English language
as an example of what I mean, the English word “travesty,” meaning “something grotesque and monstrous,” is etymologically related to both the English word “transvestite,” meaning “crossdresser,” and the Portuguese word “travesti,” variously meaning “crossdresser,” “trans woman” or “trans prostitute”
