My position all year has been short-term optimist, long-term pessimist, and I don't see any reason to change that. We're still locked in normal thermostatic politics, and I just don't see any indications of a realignment yet.
My takeaway from last night is that Republicans are in deep trouble next year but even a D+10-12 political environment in 2026 feels pretty underwhelming all things considered.
